HYMN COMMENTARY \"Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness\" This popular hymn by songwriter James K. Manley grew out of a sabbatical leave at the School of Theology in Claremont, CA. It was first sung at Waiokeola Congregational Church in Honolulu, after which Manley added the fourth stanza at the suggestion of a church member. We are so blessed to have Jim as a member and regular worshipper here at Claremont United Church of Christ! Thank you for your ministry, Jim!

GUEST ARTIST Maritri is a singer, songwriter and multi- instrumentalist from San Bernardino, California. She holds a BA in biology from Fisk University where she was a Jubilee singer and a BS from Howard University in composition and an MFA in Jazz studies from Howard University. Of late, she has freelanced for several Southern California theaters as a musician and composer. She plays nightly on Facebook live five nights a week at facebook.com/maritrigarrett.
