As an echo from the South, 108ART project presents Juan Castillo, Arturo Duclos and Victor Pavez, contemporary Chilean artists, whose appear in the art scene as a model that represents his country Chile in the international panorama. Their vision have been constructed by some emotionally dissatisfied society, the value of the image is revealed from existing landscapes; sometimes the face as a landscape (Juan Castillo). The use of different sources since the incorporation of texts (Victor Pavez) until anything that can produce an effect or an awake from the trance, where our mind and soul are constantly experimenting in the ordinary life (Arturo Duclos).
Guest Artists VICTOR PAVEZ draw on photographs taken over the use of resources and various graphic printing, performs works that appear on measuring instruments landscapes and pictures of objects, images of urban cartography through which conceptual relationships established between reality and imaginary ideals. The trajectory of ARTURO DUCLOS has been widely recognized in the most important artistic centers of the world, including Paris, New York, Mexico and Rome. In 1992 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship in New York, United States. JUAN CASTILLO Chilean artist living in Sweden and former member of CADA or Art Collective Actions, iconic art group in dictatorship. During a production of more than 40 years, the artist usually crossing strategies such as video, photography, painting and on-site interventions, always linked to political and social contexts in which it is inserted.
