LETTER FROM THE CHAIR \"D23 ARMCA 2022 has terrific members and great leadership at all levels and aspects. Our membership is up and more importantly participation numbers are up in all the disciplines (Motocross, Hare Scrambles, Enduro, Flat Track, Hillclimb, Road, and Recreational Off-Road riding). We have more sponsorships, more events, more awards, and most importantly more of you. If you are reading this, you are part of a State Championship level group! Congratulations to all the participants from the youngest to the oldest! I was born into this motorcycle world and have participated over the last many years in each discipline. It was a joy and very personally rewarding to visit venues in each of the disciplines this year and see the professionalism, care, and organization of the events that are run here in D23 ARMCA. You are important, and I will attest that the volunteer leadership of the organization always has our members’ best interests top on the list when decisions are made. Thank you to all the event promoters, clubs, volunteers, landowners, non-riders, and everyone who helped, and all the folks behind the scenes and not necessarily riding and racing who help each of us (the members) enjoy this sport we love. Others in the world recreate fishing, hunting, running, traveling, bicycle riding, and the entire myriad of opportunities to invest energy to enjoy this experience we call life. We choose to throw our leg over the seat and gas it, hold on, and compete, or just plain enjoy the ride. I do not know that much about life, but one thing I do know is that riding is a blast, and nothing compares to the feeling. Add a little competition, and / or adventure and we now have what we can call OUR recreation. Never take anything for granted. D23 ARMCA has grown and developed into an outstanding District of the AMA and one of the top Districts in the Country.\" - Rex Greenwald 4

RACER LIFE \"This season was by far the busiest, but also the most fun I have ever had. I participated in 15 D23 events and volunteered at 2 more, plus a few other events across the country. I was able to wrap up my second consecutive overall Enduro state championship, and got my second overall race win. Taking on the duties of trailboss for the Trollhaugen Hare Scramble was a tall task that consumed countless hours and some added stress. It was all worth it to see the record number of people who showed up to participate in the event that I played a major role in organizing. It wouldn't have been possible without the hardworking group of individuals who volunteered their time to make it the best race we could!\" - Jack Maki Enduro | AA Champion \"At the \"To the MaXX Vol. 2\" races in Jordan, MN I experienced a pretty hard crash during my Super Singles heat race. I got the bike back to the pit area, but had a broken rear brake pedal. Two of the younger races Aaron Frick and Jacob Schmidt came to help me get the bike fixed. These two young men put their own racing priorities to the side in order to get me back on the track. I was able to make the main events and pulled a 3rd place finish. I wouldn't have won this Championship without them or the other racers who have helped me along the way.\" - Kyle Gray Flat Track | Super Singles Champion ARMCA.ORG | @D23ARMCA 7
\"2022 was finally the year Mason decided to get back into racing since he was just a little guy! Turning 16 in May of 2022 gave Mason the freedom to drive where ever he needed to practice, get parts, cheap gas, gear etc! He was ready to dive into Hare Scrambles which made me one excited and happy Mom. Spending time at the tracks and camping for the weekends brought a whole new level of family fun and getting to watch Mason do something he thoroughly enjoyed made it all the better! Seeing all the little tikes up to veterans goes to show you how great it is for the whole family! Thanks D23 ARMCA for helping us create a memorable 2022 season. Taking home 2nd in his class was an added bonus! So proud of Mason and every other rider for driving fast and taking chances to entertain the rest of us!\" - Family of Mason Christensen Hare Scrambles | 201-250 C 2nd Overall \"Vinny ran Wisconsin Rapids for his very first hillclimb, he said it was scary thought it seemed like a fun thing to do. We decided to go all in, race all 2022 season, and see what we could do. It was a steep learning curve for Vinny and Dad, but we worked well together to figure it out. Suspension, gearing, jetting, and rider timing/technique was the buzz in the Etchen Pits! There was a nice progression in points throughout the year, leading to his final standing. Vinny did exceptionally well for his first year to get 2nd place, Mom and Dad couldn't be prouder!!! Oh, and Nationals was fun as well... 7th on his 65 against 26 other competitors. We'll be BACK!!! Braaaaaaap\" - Family of Vinny Etchen Hillclimb | 65cc 6-11 2nd Overall ARMCA.ORG | @D23ARMCA 8
\"I had to bust my butt off this year to win this class! The competition was tough and Hannah definitely pushed me hard this year. I love amazing competition like her and am sad we both aged out this year. I can't wait to continue making amazing memories on the track with her.\" - Autumn Schlauderaff Motocross | Girls SR 12-16 & Women's Champion \"This was my first year racing and my favorite part is jumping! I’m proud of myself for always giving it my best, improving with each race, and getting back on after I got hurt. My favorite part off the track is playing with my new friends! It was an awesome season, and I can’t wait until next year!\" - Logan Jilek Quad Motocross | 50cc Semi-Stock 4-8 2nd Overall ARMCA.ORG | @D23ARMCA 9

Troy and I 3: Allen Huber are very close in speed and that made 4: Matt Dubbin racing him a blast this year. One 4 favorite Hare Scramble memory is when Troy passed me, but immediately went 200 C 1 down hard on an off-camber downhill. I passed Troy and waited for him at the 1: Hunter Bathke top of the hill. He yelled 'GO AHEAD, 250 C 1 I’M OKAY!' I’m like 'NO, GET UP, LET’S RACE!' Well, that was a huge mistake 1: Nicholas Goth on my part because the guy promptly passed me on the next lap, and I just OPEN C 1 couldn’t keep up with him. I was telling myself 'oh man 212, you should have 1: Kasey Schroeder gapped Troy when you had the chance!' Somehow, I did get around him before the finish and we had a great laugh about everything afterwards. He’s a good dude!\" - Steven Mehr 16
