Jatin Sharad Patel President SEPTEMBER 2021 CLUB PRESIDENTS VISIT TO RAJ BHAVAN Chance to Visit Raj Bhavan the Best Residential location of Maharashtra! Being a Rotarian & serving the community as the President of our Rotary Club of Bombay North West - Malad gave me once in a life-time opportunity to visit Raj Bhavan & see the Governor in person! We had our Dream Presidents meet at Lonavla two weeks back. In this meet during one-to-one discussion with our group DG Rajendra Agarwal requested for donation of Rs.25,000 for mask to be given to various Government employees. Myself with other two co- presidents immediately responded to DG’s call and said “YES” DG Rajendra Ji Agarwal has kindly arranged a meeting for all the 12 donors of mask today morning with Honourable Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari @ Raj Bhavan, Malabar Hill. I was so impressed by Governor’s witty nature & presence of mind!! He Actually took out time and insisted to know about each person and not the rotary president. Also he was quite updated about the ground realities and posed some smart questions about certain projects that Rotary is doing and expressed his willingness to see them. Honourable Governor gave all attention and time and asked each and every one of us to introduce ourselves and give our background. A total of 1.5 Lakhs masks are to be distributed to various front-line workers & agencies, Rotary Club of Bombay North West - Malad contributed by donating 10000 Masks. Really it was a Great Honour to be at Raj Bhavan today. Thank You DG Rajendraji on behalf of all the Dream Presidents, for giving us an opportunity for being a part of such a noble cause !!

INSPIRATION CORNER - PP RTN KIRAN PATEL THE GOOD YOU DO COMES BACK TO YOU The new helicopter was being chased all over the compound by children before it went into Bunty’s house. Bunty was studying for his test, his eyes brightened as he saw it come inside. He had no intention of returning the helicopter, but looking at his mother’s angry expression, he grudgingly returned the helicopter. In the evening when his mother had cooled down, Bunty asked his mother to buy him a helicopter. His mother explained to him that she would instead buy him a laptop, which will more useful for his studies. He get very angry and tells her that he would prefer both, laptop and helicopter. He asked her, why she was wasting her time teaching the poor children for free when she could easily charge fees like all other teachers. His mother replied that the free tuitions for the children who could not afford to pay was “Vidyadaan”, which is the noblest thing as a teacher I need to do. Years later, an old beggar lady followed a man on the railway platform, the man lashed out in anger and said, “Why don’t you work for a living instead of begging?” She said, “Beta, by mistake you dropped your wallet and gave it to him.” Realising his mistake, Kapil took out a 10 Rupee note and was about to give it to her and he recognized her. She was the same teacher who had given him free tuition in his crucial years when he could not even afford books. Immediately, he took her home, made his wife help her get cleaned up and fed her food. And then he inquired about the turn of events in her life that had brought her to this condition. She told him how after the untimely death of her husband, her children had to sell all the property to pay off the debts. And none of them were ready to take her to their house. She was left with no choice but to beg. Kapil told her about all her other students, who always kept in touch and no one was aware of her whereabouts. Through social media, he got intouch with all his friends and informed them about the teacher and her plight. Money started pouring in from across the globe, soon Kapil bought a place for the teacher to stay. All the friends decided that they would send a fixed amount every month to the teacher to sustain herself through Kapil. Thus the seeds of kindness that she had sown in her good times had now become trees with fruits. Everyone should do good without any expectations, whether it’s in the office with colleagues, friends, neighbors and even with family members. One never knows when you would need help in life and who might help you in which form. What you give always comes back to you. So never hesitate to help anyone.
