Then suddenly, from out of the blue The Really Useful Group placed a spanner in the works (albeit a good spanner) by making that long overdue announcement. CAST Simon Eales Admetus Simon has fond experiences of playing animals, having appeared as the crocodile in Peter Pan with SLAMS for which he won a Lyrebird award and a snake in his Year 12 production winning the VCE Premier's Award for Drama. Currently working in hospitality, Simon has been involved in dance, singing and non-professional theatre for some years, appearing in plays Huckleberry Finn, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and musicals including Guys and Dolls and Crazy for You (Wyatt). Simon made his professional debut in the swing show Jump Sugar Jump for Jump Productions in 2004 playing the role of Bluey. Simon is currently pursuing vocal training with Derek Taylor. Ed Deganos Alonzo Ed works as an executive assistant with the Australian Music Examinations Board. He has trained extensively in dance, singing and drama at the Victorian College of the Arts. Widely experienced as a performer, he has appeared in many productions including Rent, Into the Woods, Paris, Is There Life After High School? and Sweet Charity. Ed is also a musician, having skills on the piano, euphonium and trumpet. Peter Dennis Bill Bailey A freelance singer and performer, Peter performed as understudy in the role of Angel in the Stella Entertainment production of Rent early in 2006. In 2004 he was nominated for a Guild Award for his interpretation of the principal role of Agamenmon in Paris and has also appeared as Billy Flynn (Chicago), Ralph Rackstraw (HMS Pinafore) and in Cinderella, Billy Mack’s War, La Cage Aux Folles and Oklahoma. Peter recently appeared as Ozzy, one of the bounders in CLOC’s highly acclaimed production of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Peter is currently employed in professional Theatre-in-Education with Tony Bones Entertainment. Katie Bull Bombalurina A graduate of Monash University in performing arts and secondary education, Katie has a diploma in commercial dance and music theatre from the Bartuccio Dance and Promotion Centre and has also completed a course at the Stella Adler Conservatory in New York. Currently teaching dance, drama and theatre studies at Chandler Secondary College, Katie also teaches at and manages her own dance school, Dance Krazy. Katie has extensive experience and training in jazz, tap, ballet, drama and singing as well as a large number of performance credits in both musicals (My One and Only, Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, Godspell, Pippin, West Side Story, Mack & Mabel, Hello Dolly!, Steel Pier, Crazy for You) and plays (Hamlet, Waiting for Godot, Don’s Party, Morning Sacrifice). Andrew Wild Bustopher Jones, Gus the Theatre Cat, Growltiger Andrew has a science degree (biochemistry/physiology majors) and has completed graduate studies in arts and entertainment management at Deakin. In addition to a career in business and administration, he has appeared in a wide range of musical productions in both lead and supporting roles. He was Linus in Altona’s You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Henrik in Festival and CLOC’s productions of A Little Night Music, Hysterium in Williamstown’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Paul in Fabulous Nobody's Company, Pirelli in CLK’s Sweeney Todd and Combeferre in CLOC's Les Miserables. He is well remembered for his star turn as Amos Hart in CLOC’s 2001 production of Chicago, for which he was awarded a special award by the Music Theatre Guild, after he managed to fall into the orchestra pit, recover, return to the stage and continue his song without missing a beat – quite an achievement! 6

Mark Monroe Carbucketty Mark works in administration and has been involved in theatre for most of his life. Accomplished in tap, modern, jazz, contemporary, singing and drama, Mark has also worked in direction and choreography. A wide range of performance credits include work in film and television, dance productions, and musicals such as Anything Goes (Moonface), Hair (Tribe), Oliver (Mr Brownlow), Peter Pan (Captain Hook), Annie (Rooster), The Sound of Music (Friedrich) and Protean in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Mark is delighted to be cast in what he describes as ‘his dream show’. Connie Baker Cassandra An arts graduate from Monash University, Connie has also completed a full-time course in dance and performing arts. A performer from the age of four, she is highly experienced as a dancer, singer and actor. Connie was part of the Commonwealth Games opening and closing ceremonies and has worked in television, films, music theatre and as a model. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities, art, drawing, making jewellery, horse riding swimming and scuba diving. Connie performed in the professional production of Hair in 2002 with the Production Company, as well as Hello Dolly! with Whitehorse Musical Theatre in 2005. James Rooney Coricorpat Hugely talented and widely experienced as both a performer and a choreographer, James has been dancing since the age of five. He joined CLOC in 1991 for Kiss Me Kate and this was followed by Can Can, Funny Girl, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, the 1999 fundraising extravaganza Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance! and My One and Only. In 1999 James was also appointed dance director for Crazy for You and subsequently choreographer for Company, Anything Goes (Guild nomination) and West Side Story. In addition to his work at CLOC, James has appeared in the Whitehorse productions of My One and Only, On the Town, Anything Goes, Me and My Girl and La Cage Aux Folles. Earlier this year, James directed and recreated the original Broadway choreography for Whitehorse Music Theatre’s high voltage production of Crazy for You. Bree Cahill Demeter A graduate of the National Theatre’s music theatre course, Bree currently works in administration and is widely experienced as a performer (television, film, stage, corporate functions) and model. Following roles in The Sound of Music, A Chorus Line, Singin’ in the Rain and various Disney pantomimes, earlier this year, Bree performed as Polly Baker in the Whitehorse production of Crazy for You. In addition to her stage work, Bree has also appeared in television productions Neighbours, Mission Impossible, Flying Doctors and in photo shoots for magazines and catalogues. In 2000 Bree was a finalist in the nationwide all girl band talent search ‘Popstars’. Megan Downing Electra Megan currently works as a physiotherapist and has studied classical ballet with Karen Stephens and singing with Will Conyers. Experienced in both acting and in musicals, Megan has recently appeared in productions of Rent (Stella Entertainment), West Side Story (Whitehorse Musical Theatre), Lysistrata, Elements 1 and Dinkum Assorted. 7

CAST Madeleine Carreras Etcetera Currently studying drama and dance at Deakin University, Madeleine has trained in jazz, tap and classical ballet at The Peter Wallace Studio of Art and Dance for seven years. She loves dancing and performing and hopes to pursue further studies overseas in the future. While at school at Strathmore Secondary College, Madeline performed in Much Ado about Nothing, played the role of Jay in Small Poppies, and co-choreographed the midyear music concert. Madeleine has since appeared in the roles of Anna in The King and I, Sheila in A Chorus Line, Louise in Carousel and as angel Purity in Anything Goes. Etcetera is Madeleine’s first role in a CLOC production. Scott Ponsford George CATS marks Scott’s first CLOC show and he returns to the boards after spending the past 3 years on the ‘other side’. In 2002, Scott choreographed Hello Dolly! and also performed the role of Barnaby. Other memorable roles include Baby John in West Side Story and Mike in A Chorus Line all with Altona. A graduate of Dance Factory, Scott has toured throughout Asia with the Walt Disney Company as a performer and Tour Manager. In 2004, Scott choreographed Catchment’s sellout season of Grease earning him a Guild Nomination, followed by nominations for both his direction and choreography for Altona’s Hair also nominated for Best Production. Daniella Maddalena Grizabella Daniella works as a teacher of performing arts at Our Lady of Assumption Primary School and when not performing enjoys singing, reading, walking and travelling. Widely experienced as a performer, Daniella has worked professionally at Aliens Theatre Restaurant, the Stagecoach Theatre Restaurant and for Warner Bros. In addition to film and television work, she has also appeared in productions at corporate venues as well as musicals: Joseph (Narrator), Sweet Charity (Charity), Pippin (Catherine), Fiddler on the Roof, (Hodel), The Sound of Music (Louisa) and Grease (Marti). Daniella was awarded Best Supporting Actress by the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria for the role of Carrie in Carousel with Geelong Lyric. Jacqui Bunting Jellyorum/Griddlebone CATS marks Jacqui’s second CLOC show, having previously performed in Mack and Mabel. While completing a National Diploma in Musical Theatre at Tswane University (South Africa), she performed in the world premiere of Africa Dreaming, as well as Broadway Babies, Jerry’s Girls, and Into the Woods, after which she clicked her heels three times and found herself in Oz performing in The Sound of Music (as the Baroness), 42nd Street, Les Miserables (all for Whitehorse Musical Theatre), Baby (as Pam) with Waverley Theatre, Into the Woods (as the Stepmother) with Devanesen Productions, Company (Joanne) with Just Pretending and most recently she played the role of Irene in Whitehorse’s Crazy For You. Earlier this year Jacqui performed in the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Tailem Tynan Jemima Tailem has degrees in Primary Teaching and Arts (majoring in Dance) and is currently working as a kindergarten teacher. With extensive experience as a performer in non-professional music theatre, Tailem is trained in a range of dance styles including classical ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and singing – performing in various choral ensembles and musical groups from an early age. In addition to roles in school productions, Tailem has appeared in CLOC’s Mack & Mabel, Anything Goes and Chicago, Nova’s 42nd Street and Singin’ in the Rain, Catchment’s Give My Regards to Broadway, Babirra’s The New Moon and Whitehorse’s Hello Dolly!. CATS represents Tailem’s fifth show with CLOC, after previously appearing in their productions of Anything Goes, Chicago, Mack and Mabel and as part of the Music Theatre Guild award winning ensemble in Steel Pier. She is thrilled to be performing as Jemima in her dream production of CATS. 8

Melinda Gregory Jennyanydots, the Old Gumbie Cat Melinda is delighted to return to CLOC after previously performing the roles of Susan (Company) and Erma (Anything Goes). Other memorable roles include Dolly Levi (Hello Dolly!), The Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods), ‘Waitress and Check-out Chick (Working), Pitti-Sing (Hot Mikado), Sister Robert Anne (Nunsense), and Miss Sherman (Fame-The Musical) in which she received a Music Theatre Guild nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Melinda has also ventured into the world of live cabaret with ‘Itching for Something’ and a one-woman show – There’s A Kid Inside at Capers Cabaret. Mel’s other singing pursuits have included releasing recordings, performances in TV, Radio, Corporate Engagements, and Festivals. Mitch Fistrovic Mr Mistoffelees (Quaxo) Mitch is a student in Year 9 at the Victorian College of the Arts, where he studies full-time dance. Mitch’s music theatre and entertainment credits include: modelling with Sarah O’Hare for Bonds, Morning Ride to Christmas CD with the Seekers, and the role of Captain in Fagin’s gang in the professional production of Oliver! (Cameron Mackintosh/IMG, Melbourne and Asia Pacific Production). For Catchment Players, Mitch has performed in Annie, Life Upon the Wicked Stage, Catchment Kids Step Back in Time, A Night of a Thousand Stars, Jesus Christ Superstar, Can you Feel the Beat? and as assistant choreographer for Oliver! For Whitehorse Musical Theatre, Mitch recently played the role of Jimmy in Crazy for You. Film and television appearances include: Legacy of the Silver Shadow (Australian Children’s Television Foundation), Fergus McPhail (Burberry Productions), Professor (short film, Cat and Dog Productions), and Seven Sins (short film, Victorian College of the Arts). Nick Lovett Mungojerrie, Macavity Nick has been performing since the age of thirteen and CATS is his first show with CLOC. He has previously worked with Whitehorse Musical Theatre in Hello Dolly, West Side Story and Crazy for You. Other shows include The Pajama Game, Pirates of Penzance, Hot Mikado, Me and My Girl, and again West Side Story. Nick is currently studying a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts, with a double major in dance and drama at Deakin University. Peter Stanbrook Munkestrap Peter has a degree in Music Theatre from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and is a highly accomplished dancer in tap, classical and jazz ballet. He has been featured in supporting roles in the television series Stingers and Neighbours, acted in commercials and sung in Melbourne groups Envy and All Down. A founding member of As You Wish Productions, Peter has also appeared in the shows Broadway Bound with Bugs Bunny (Warner Entertainment), A Chorus Line, Godspell, Grand Hotel, The Villain of Flowers, Into the Woods, Guys and Dolls, Gigi, Mack & Mabel, Hello Dolly! and Steel Pier. Most recently, Peter rehearsed the role of Bobby Child for Whitehorse Musical Theatre Company’s recent production of Crazy for You, until he broke his foot three weeks before opening night. Toby Truscott Old Deuteronomy Toby is a commerce graduate who is trained in voice and acting and has a very wide range of performance experiences. Recently he appeared in UK productions of Fiddler on the Roof (Perchik), Oklahoma (Curley) and Company (Bobby) and before that in shows such as Guys and Dolls, Jesus Christ Superstar, Kismet, Grand Hotel, My Fair Lady and The New Moon. Toby is well remembered for his role of Albert Lennox in Whitehorse Musical Theatre’s production of The Secret Garden (1999), and earlier this year, performed the title role of Sir Percy Blakeney in CLOC’s stunning production of The Scarlet Pimpernel. 9

Enter Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer, a fun-loving, frolicking team of pranksters who are always getting into trouble with the family with whom they live. The entire tribe re-enters as their benevolent and wise old leader Old Deuteronomy arrives. The cats adore and respect him. They entertain him with a special show which Munkustrap narrates, The Awful Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles together with The Marching Song of the Pollicle Dogs. The cats dress up as the two rival dog factions who bark ceaselessly at each other until they are frightened away by the great Rumpus Cat, a sleek and powerful feline.

The villainous Macavity once again sends the cats scurrying. Old CAST LIST Deuteronomy soothes them. It is time for The Jellicle Ball, the great annual dance in which all of the cats celebrate. CAST Katherine Nelson Rumpleteazer Katherine began her dance training at the age of two an has since furthered her studies by graduating with a Bachelor of Performing Arts at Monash University, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Education at Deakin. Katherine has danced her way through many cabarets, concerts and television appearances, notably Channel 7’s Good Friday Appeal, Gala concerts, and the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games. Earlier this year, Katherine was seen as Kristine in A Chorus Line for NOVA, and in 2005, played Anybody’s in Whitehorse’s production of West Side Story. Her other musical theatre credits include Me and My Girl, Fame (Iris Kelly), Song and Dance and Chicago (both with Catchment), Sunday in the Park with George, Children of Eden and the world premiere of Jake Lives. Katherine can now be seen touring Australia with the Wiggles as Dorothy the Dinosaur. George Tsatsakis Rum Tum Tugger George has a degree in performance studies and is currently working in the information technology industry. Trained in dance (contemporary and jazz) and voice, George joins CLOC for this production of CATS, having previously appeared in Godspell (Altona/Judas) and Grease (Catchment/Teen Angel) and also as the MC/Soloist for Williamstown Musical Theatre Company’s production of Work in Progress. Steven Rostron Skimbleshanks CATS marks Steven's second production in Melbourne since moving from Wollongong NSW a year ago. He is a qualified teacher of tap and ballet, having danced for many years and completed studies for a Bachelor of Applied Arts (Dance) and Education from UNSW. Performance credits include Mingo in Crazy For You, Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street, Will Parker in Oklahoma and Franklin Shepherd in Merrily We Roll Along. Choreographic credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, and A Chorus Line with the Roo Theatre Company. Victoria Reichstein Tantomile Having completed her studies, Victoria now works as a nurse. She has been studying classical ballet, tap and jazz since the age of three and successfully completed exams in all three areas of dance. Victoria joined CLOC for the role of Velma in West Side Story and was part of the ensemble for My One and Only, Chicago and Mack and Mabel, having previously appeared in The King and I, 42nd Street and Anything Goes. In 2003, Victoria was a member of the cast of CLOC’s award winning production of Pippin. More recently, she appeared in Whitehorse Theatre Company’s productions of Hello Dolly! and West Side Story. Nathan Derrick Victor Currently a student, Nathan is trained in singing, dancing (jazz, ballet and tap), acrobatics and acting. Over the past few years he has appeared in numerous film and television productions (Blue Heelers, Full Frontal, Neighbours, Fast Forward), commercials, operas (Der Rosenkavalier), ballets (Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Nutcracker) and musicals (Seussical, Barnum, The Sound of Music). In 1999, Nathan played the role of Young Peter in the Gannon & Young production of The Boy from Oz. Nathan has extensive performance experience for one so young. Aimee Harvey Victoria Aimee has trained in jazz, ballet, modern dance and gymnastics from an early age. In 2005 she completed a Bachelor of Dance degree at the Auckland University of Technology, the final year of which included researching the dance industry in Los Angeles. In New Zealand she was a member of the Sky City Cheer team, cheerleading for the All Blacks, Auckland Blues, Auckland NPC Team and Auckland Stars basketball team. On stage, Aimee has performed in numerous productions including Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Nutcracker, Les Miserables, Annie, Chess, The Sound of Music and The Rocky Horror Show. In 1998, Aimee was named Coastlands Young Entertainer of the Year and was also a finalist in the New Zealand Young Performer of the Year Award. 12
