Direction & Design Chris White : Co-Director/Set Designer Chris has been involved in theatre for over 40 years, having started out as Publicity Designer for J.C. Williamson, Melbourne Theatre Company and The Australian Ballet. This led to onstage performances in musicals, as well as direction and design in professional and amateur theatre. He has produced, directed and designed over 35 musicals in as many years. Since retiring from a long-standing teaching career, Chris is now a full-time professional artist and designer, having won over 60 major art awards for his work. Chris has been nominated for awards for his set designs on numerous occasions, and has won the Music Theatre Guild Award four times. Some of his noted direction and/or designs include Steel Pier (CLOC), Sweeney Todd (CLK Musical Theatre and more recently Nova Musical Theatre), Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Whitehorse), Into The Woods (Dandenong), and Les Miserables, Anything Goes and Oklahoma! (all for Catchment). In 2008, he directed Whitehorse Musical Theatre Company’s outstanding production of Seussical, the Musical, which was nominated for an incredible sixteen awards, winning eight, including Production of the Year, as well as for both Chris’ Direction and Set Design. For CLOC, he and Lynette co-directed Dusty in 2010 (which received 10 Guild nominations), Fiddler on the Roof (2011-Design nomination) and Guys and Dolls (2013). Chris also painted stunning backdrops for several of our recent productions, including All Shook Up and The Phantom of the Opera. We welcome Chris back to CLOC, again doing double duties as Director and Set Designer. Lynette White : Co-Director/Choreographer For over 30 years, Lynette has been a major force in choreography and direction in the Melbourne music theatre scene, working with major theatre companies and being recognised by the Music Theatre Guild with twelve nominations and four awards. These include Whitehorse (My One and Only 1992–award, Gypsy 1994–nomination, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat 2002–nomination, Beauty and the Beast 2006–nomination) and Catchment (Grease 1995–nomination). With husband Chris, she has also co-directed and choreographed many shows, including Oklahoma! (Guild nomination for both direction and choreography), Sweeney Todd (twice), Anything Goes, Oliver!, Les Miserables, Into the Woods, Pippin, and in 2008, Seussical for Whitehorse, which was recognised with an amazing tally of eight Guild and four Lyrebird awards, including Production of the Year (Guild) and Direction (Guild and Lyrebird) for both Lynette and Chris. For CLOC, Lynette choreographed our 1998 production of A Chorus Line (for which she was again named Choreographer of the Year by the Music Theatre Guild) as well as our 2009 premiere blockbuster Miss Saigon. In 2010, she choreographed and co-directed Dusty with husband Chris, followed by Fiddler on the Roof in 2011 and Guys and Dolls in 2013. Lynette and Chris make a formidable and multi-talented production team, perfect for a show of this magnitude and scale. Danny Forward : Musical Director Originally from Brisbane, Danny is now a much valued and beloved member of the Melbourne musical theatre scene. For Beaumaris Theatre, Danny was a committee member for eight years and musically directed, composed and/or performed music for twelve productions, including their much acclaimed 2010 production of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, which he also co-directed and designed. For other companies, Danny has worked as Musical Director for MLOC (Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Pippin, Camelot), Fab Nobs (Rent, Grease, Avenue Q, It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Superman), MDMS (Guys and Dolls) and Babirra (Annie, Crazy for You). As well, he has worked with Aspect, Catchment, MOTTS, New Beat, PLOS and Whitehorse, either as Musical Director, audition and rehearsal pianist or pit player. In 2010, he was honoured at the Music Theatre Guild Awards when he received the Musicians Award for Excellence. But it is his involvement with CLOC over the last seven years for which Danny is truly loved and respected by us all. In 2008, Danny worked on his first CLOC production, The Boy from Oz, working as rehearsal pianist and as part of the on-stage orchestra. He then worked on nine consecutive CLOC shows, capping off an incredible run by winning Best Musical Director of 2012 for our Production of the Year, All Shook Up. Since then, Danny has been so in demand that it has taken a special show and production team to coax Danny back to CLOC and we couldn’t be happier or prouder. 4

Victoria Horne : Costume Designer Vicky has been designing and creating costumes for secondary school musicals, dance schools and calisthenics competitions for over twenty years, before moving successfully into adult musical theatre. She received Guild nominations for the two PLOS shows she designed – Cabaret (2006) and Thoroughly Modern Millie (2008). For CLOC, Vicky started on the sewing team for Shout!, and then either designed and/or coordinated costumes for Hot Shoe Shuffle (2008-Guild nomination), Miss Saigon (2009), Dusty (2010-Guild nomination), Fiddler on the Roof (2011), All Shook Up (2012-Guild nomination), Guys and Dolls (2013) and her much admired extravagant designs for last year’s 100th production 42nd Street. She then took her sequins and feathers with her to Babirra, where she won more plaudits for her superb designs for Crazy for You. Both her 2014 shows were justifiably nominated for Guild awards, which she won for Crazy for You. We are delighted to welcome Vicky back ‘home’ for her ninth CLOC show in which, as you are about to find out, she has kept up her tradition of ensuring each costume has at least one sequin on it somewhere. We promise they are all there, even if you may have to look carefully to see some of them sneakily placed! In non-professional theatre, Brad designed the lighting and projection for several Whitehorse productions - Beauty and the Beast, The Producers, Seussical, Aida and Rent. He also provided technical help, expertise and equipment for the film segments in our 2012 production, Sunset Boulevard. A note from Brad: “It was our pleasure to work and be friends with the late Leigh Barker. As part of this show, my team worked on a very special animation character who we came to call Angel in Leigh’s honour. This little lark grew to mean a lot to our creative team. Its presence every night provided a beautiful bond to a beautiful soul flying high overhead and watching over us.” Marcello Lo Ricco : Sound Designer Marcello studied Performing Arts at Monash University before completing Audio Engineering studies at SAE Institute and has since worked extensively in sound design. Marcello’s most recent sound designs include the acclaimed Australian premiere productions of In The Heights (StageArt) and Frankenstein (WMTC), The Addams Family (PLOS), Loving Repeating (Vic Theatre), Evita (Encore–Tasmania), Parade (BottledSail) Avenue Q (Trifle), Miss Saigon (Footlight), Young Australian Broadway Chorus (Stage School Australia) and The Music Theatre Guild of Victoria Awards.
