I About the Founder CAM's FOUNDER Since  opening its doors to students in 2004, the Light of the World Christian Academy of Makati has already become one of the leading Christian academic institutions in the country with a 21st century learning curriculum. Growth Mindset in the New Normal CAM resolves to refine and enhance its instructional delivery with its unstoppable drive to offer the most engaging online and onsite experience and promote the child’s total well-being. Hence, the school uses Brightspace  Learning Management  System and other engaging blended learning tools to make students enjoy learning both at the comfort of their homes and while in school. The learning experience of students remains to be engaging and collaborative to meet the students' needs.  The academic team reviewed the curriculum to determine the most essential learning competencies that will be covered this school year and planned activities that are appropriate for the new normal set- up.

II Vision and Mission Vision We are highly engaged educators committed in developing God-fearing and responsible students whose skills are nourished and strengthened through interactive hybrid learning. Mission Our mission is to prepare students to be confident learners equipped with needful skills for mastery of a performance-based curriculum. Using varied experiential and interactive teaching approaches, we strive to stir an atmosphere of inquiry and wonder- making room for imaginative thinking in a positive learning environment with our parents and school community.

III Definition of Terms A. Virtual Learning It refers to classroom instructions or programs delivered online. It is often referred as \"e-learning\" among other terms. 1. Synchronous Learning Online Class It refers to the mode of learning which is conducted real-time through video-conferencing apps. 2. Asynchronous Learning Offline Class It refers to a self-paced mode of learning. The student can access the lessons and materials during their most convenient time. Student-teacher interactions may be limited to e-mails, messaging, short calls, pre-recorded videos, or through a learning management system.

Face-to-Face Learning B. On - Site Class It refers to a class arrangement where the teacher and the students meet in a set place for a set time, for group class lessons. C. Hybrid Learning It refers to combined traditional face-to-face classroom instruction with online learning. Hybrid classes include asynchronous learning elements, like online exercises and pre-recorded video instruction, to support face-to-face classroom sessions.

Learning Management System LMS It refers to a software application where teachers create and manage learning materials, teacher’s notes, and monitor students’ task accomplishments. Students can also access and submit their lesson materials, quizzes, and homework. To learn more about Brightspace,  a separate user guide will be provided just for you! Market-leading platforms such as Brightspace by D2L are developed to ensure that anyone can learn anywhere at anytime and does much more than host virtual classes. A great LMS makes it easy for both teacher and learner to achieve learning – without distractions from system format or performance.

IV CAM Online & On-site Classes 1. Curriculum CAM Curriculum for SY 2022-2023 is aligned with the Department of Education's prescribed Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) for hybrid learning geared towards application and creation of new knowledge and skills to real-life setting; differentiated instruction and integration of 21st century skills are emphasized. 2. Instructional Delivery: Hybrid Approach a. Online distance learning using Brightspace as Learning Management System (LMS) b. Synchronous: Students and teachers interact live using Zoom and Brightspace. c. Asynchronous: Students work offline on their textbook exercises, e-books, and uploaded materials.



Online Schooling Features To make online learning more highly interactive and engaging, GSD will utilize these platforms and educational apps. Frequently Used  Platforms Lessons will be presented through PowerPoint Presentations especially files with animated images and transitions. Word documents, official announcements, practice worksheets and some instructional materials will be presented through PDF files. Music and videos presented in class can be accessed through YouTube.

V Academics and Non-Academics Online Delivery The delivery of instructions will be through online. We will be utilizing the use of Brightspace as our Learning Management System, this is where teachers will upload all the learning materials for our learners and can be easily accessed using any gadget. To make it more collaborative and engaging, other educational tools and video conferencing will be used. Learners will also be given books for them to review and study during their asynchronous learning time or home study tasks. Moreover, age- appropriate assessment and timely feedback will be provided. On-site Delivery The delivery of instructions will be through face-to-face setup. We will take advantage of live interaction by engaging students in classroom or small group discussions, hands-on engagement and other physical activities while maintaining physical social distancing. Appropriate assessment of learning and skills will also be conducted in person.

Grading System Students grades will be communicated at the beginning of the school year. Consistent feedback will be given to both students and the parents. Weight of the components for Kinder to Grade 10:

Academic Awards for Kinder to Grade 6 With Highest Honors This is given to a student with an average grade of 98-100 and with no grade lower than 93 in any subjects . With High Honors This is given to a student with an average grade of 95-97 and with no grade lower than 88 in any subjects. With Honors This is given to a student with an average grade of 90-94 and with no grade lower than 85 in any subjects Actual Grade and Transmuted Grade

Completion Week Guidelines Weekly requirements for each subject will be posted in the Home Study Task (HST) Guide which will be sent every Friday. Please take note of the submission dates.

Prior to completion week, students with pending 3 to 5 submissions will be given a yellow slip. Parents are expected to help the child complete missing requirements. Advisers and subject teachers will attend to any concerns. ATTENTION REQUIRED! Name: _________________________________ Missed Submissions: Mathematics Science Meanwhile, students who failed to submit more than 6 requirements for all subjects will be given blue slip. Parents will be invited for a Zoom meeting to help fast –track missed requirements. Students may incur grades deductions if submissions fall after completion week. ATTENTION REQUIRED! Non - Academics Character Formation The students of CAM are shaped to be Christlike. A young Christian who loves God and everything He has created.  Children are given situational stories to help them reflect and apply in their daily lives. Social Awareness As early as grade school, we encourage them to show love, kindness and hope to others.  Social issues and responsibilities are integrated in their lessons or subjects (e.g. importance of taking care of our trees, proper garbage disposal and social distancing). Student Activities We believe that students should be fostered as well-rounded individuals. There will be opportunities for them to explore other areas of interest and collaborate with their peers.

VI Sample Schedule The weekly schedule will be composed of blended online, offline, and on-site learning activities. Specific days will be devoted to on-site classes while the other days will be designated for online and offline classes.

VII General Rules and Regulations Partnership between the teachers and the parents is very crucial in the success of online learning. Here are some of the guidelines to make the online class a success this school year. Gadgets Materials Bottled Water Learning Space

Online Class Guidelines Wear proper clothes during on-screen classes. No caps, visors, hoods, bandanas or other head gear, except with administrative permission. All garments must cover shoulder to shoulder. No rips/tears or skintight items. All garments must be long enough to clearly overlap the beltline or stay tucked. Dresses, skirts and shorts must be at least mid-thigh or below in length. Undergarments must remain entirely covered even while seated.

Students are required to always turn their video on while having online classes. Students are asked to “mute” or “unmute” their audio during recitation. Waiting for ones turn must be practiced. When raising a question use raise hand function located in the “Participant” panel and wait to be acknowledged. said For safety and security, students are NOT allowed to share their on-screen link and passcode.

To save internet bandwidth, students may not use virtual backgrounds or filters. Chatting is only allowed upon teacher’s direction. Respectful behavior is expected even in breakout session activities with classmates and to work together to complete the activity. Unnecessary noise like mumbling in the mic, tapping and loud voices will not be tolerated. Most important of all, students must participate and enjoy the class.

On-site Class Guidelines Condition your child emotionally and physically before the start of the class. We suggest to take their breakfast before we start. Students are required to arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of their classes and 5 minutes before dismissal. In case the parents are unavailable, a guardian should be ready to  look after the child.

Fetchers/Nannies should follow CAM’s dress code. No mini skirt/dress (not more than 3 inches above the knee, shorts, tights, ripped clothing, plunging neckline, see-through and visible undergarments, spaghetti straps, tube, tank tops, rubber slippers and flip-flops) Setting an appointment with the teacher. Concerns or questions should be communicated directly and immediately to your child’s teacher or Academic Head to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding, confusion or negative feedback.

Communication Any school concerns can be communicated after class hours from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. Please remain respectful when communicating with the teachers at all times. Minor Concern - For concerns about school tasks, materials, lessons, birthday party schedules and any homeroom related concerns, please communicate with your child's adviser. Major Concern - For concerns about emergencies, long abscences, admin requests, please communicate with your adviser and department coordinator. Here are the  ways to communicate with the teachers:

VIII Safeguarding Standards for Online Interaction CAM parents, teachers and students are all enjoined to abide by the identified applicable norms and standards set by the Department of Education under Regional Memo 232, 2020 – SAFEGUARDING STANDARDS DURING ONLINE INTERACTION. This is to ensure a safe online learning environment for our children - free from potential abuse and to collaborate in observing code of conduct for online- learning interactions.

Rights of Parents and Learners during Online Interaction A. With Regard to Teachers and the School Community: Parents have the right to be informed of relevant aspects concerning their children’s scholastic performance as well as behavior during learning and any school-related session. B. As co-facilitators in the learning of their children: 1. The parents shall have the right to the company of their children and, in relation to all other persons or institutions dealing with the child's development, the primary right and obligation to provide for their upbringing.

Rights of Parents and Learners during Online Interaction 2. Parents have the right to guide and support their children in managing difficult behaviour using positive discipline techniques as may be necessary for the formation of his good character to discipline the child as may be necessary for the formation of his good character, and may therefore require from him obedience to just and reasonable rules, suggestions and admonitions 3. Parents have the right to be supported with sessions on understanding online learning platform, the risks and benefit to the development of his/her child, whenever appropriate.

Parents Responsibilities during Online Interaction A. With Teachers and School Community: a. To participate in school activities, which particularly involve parents. b. To keep abreast of DepEd’s thrusts and programs as well as basic school rules, regulations and processes. c. To communicate and receive feedbacks from teachers, as scheduled. d. To respect the teacher’s viewpoint and to consider the latter’s recommendation for the best interest of the child’s development. e. To give common courtesy to the teachers, school personnel/officials and every learner’s private spaces and avoid unduly responses, through any means.

SAFEGUARDING STANDARDS FOR MODERATED PRIVATE SOCIAL MEDIA/LEARNING GROUPS In order to maximize communications and interactions between teachers and learners, social media groups via social media platforms, may be created. Such social media groups shall be UNDER PRIVATE SETTING AND PROPERLY MODERATED because the same will contain records of an official interaction between and among learners and teachers, hence, such social media groups shall be called as “MODERATED PRIVATE SOCIAL MEDIA/LEARNING GROUPS”.

Creation of Social Media Group Chats /Learning Groups A. The use of Moderated Private Social Media Groups/Learning Groups (Group) shall be applicable to Junior and Senior High School learners, in accordance with common social media platform’s policy in terms of age usage (13 and above). Only CAM teachers are allowed to create and manage this official learning group chat. Students are not allowed to create their own group chats. B. If a Junior High School learner is below 13, then he/she shall not be part of the moderated social media group, but instead, shall receive communication via CAM Bright Space Learning Management System

Creation of Social Media Group Chats /Learning Groups C. For Grades 1 to 6, teachers shall employ Viber group chats with the parents of the learners. Parents are prohibited from allowing their children to use their own messenger accounts to send private messages to their classmates. D. Parent Class representative may be invited to be part of the group as member-observer only and will sign a confidentiality agreement form.

Encouraged and Prohibited Posts Posts in the Group shall be limited to: a. Official news that may affect the class; b. Information relative to the class/school activities; and c. Official school announcements. d. All other relevant matters for learning. Note: Posting/sharing of unverified information, offensive materials, commercial advertisements and any material that does not promote learning, shall not be allowed in the group and administrators/moderators must hide said posts immediately, without prejudice to removal as may be directed.

X Frequently Asked Questions Will attendance be checked? Attendance will be checked during our on-screen and on-site classes. What if my child cannot attend the online and/or on-site classes? We highly encourage that students attend all online and/or on-site classes. However, in some instances, accommodation will be made by the teachers through sharing of recorded videos. Parents need to email request, subject for approval of the coordinator. Will the students be required to wear a school uniform? During online classes, a dress code will be followed to set the mood of our students. Pajamas or sleepwear will not be allowed. During on-site classes, students are required to wear their regular & PE uniforms as scheduled.
