Message from the Chairman Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University has launched the 15-year development plan to become “International Niche Guru University.” The first 5-year plan (2017 – 2021), the vision is specified as “Smart Archetype University of the Society” aiming to maintain the number 1 ranking among Rajabhat Universities category; and to possess the outcomes of Suan Sunandha Model in terms of instruction, research, academic services and arts and culture preservation. Suan Sunandha has certain strategy, strategic goals for administration and development. Those are annually applied as a mechanism to achieve the set goals and implemented to actions. The following-up and evaluation processes on performance are included in order to collect all relevant data as the university information for administration usage. The annual report and information is very beneficial to the university since it is a tool to enhance Suan Sunandha to perform its duties under the core missions of public university; to confirm the administration under good governance principles; to develop own ways of administration; and to set standards and regulations of the university. Message from the President According to the determination of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University to become “Smart Archetype University of the Society,” the university has operated its main missions on the set directions basis – education management, research, academic services, and arets and culture preservation. The 15-year development plan is applied as guidelines in order to successfully become “International Niche Guru University” at the end of the plan. To be “Smart Archetype University of the Society” as specified in the first 5-year plan (2017 – 2021), sets of strategies as well as strategic goals for administration and development are implemented to accomplish the annual objectives. The following up and measurement on operations are also undertaken in order to gather all applicable data to be used as information for administration. The goal of accomplishment is to stand the number 1 ranking among Rajabhat Universities group in which Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University has been ranked the number 1, 14th time consecutively, in 2021 by Webometrics of Spain. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Suan Sunandha has got direct and indirect effects in various aspects. As a result, the university has to adjust ourselves and be ready to new normal ways in terms of working, teaching-studying and ways of life. These could minimize the undesirable effects. Historical Background Originally, Suan Sunandha was once the royal garden in the precinct of Dusit Palace as a place for leisure of King Rama V and the royal family. The name “Uttayan Sunandha” or “Sunandha Royal Garden” was dubbed from name of Indra God’s garden in the paradise, and is also the name of King Rama V’s favorite and beloved queen – Queen Sunandha Kumareerattana. In the reign of King Rama VI, 32 buildings were built for being the residence of the royal consorts and concubines of King Rama V, including their courtiers. H.H. Princess Saisavali Bhiromya, one of the Royal Consort, founded a lady school “Nibhakarn”, aiming to train the royal etiquette and manner for the royal young ladies as well as the ladies from noble families.The Siamese Coup d'état of 1 9 3 2 had made a big impact towards the Royal households. A lot of royal members and courtiers resided in Suan Sunandha felt unsecure about the situation; consequently, they left the place. The beauty and splendid of Suan Sunandha, including Nibhakarn School were no longer existed. It was until the reign of King Rama VIII, the once-decayed Suan Sunandha was back to life.
