Ventricular tachycardia  Occurrence of 3 or more depolarization from a ventricular ectopic pacemaker at the rate faster than 100 bpm

Ventricular tachycardia

Ventricular fibrillation  Totally disorganized depolarization and contraction of small area of ventricular myocardium  No effective ventricular pumping activity  Commonly in severe ischemic heart disease

VF Coarse VF Fine VF

Polymorphic VT

Torsade de pointes  A specific variant of polymorphic VT in which the QRS axis swing from a positive to a negative direction in a single lead

Torsades de pointes

Bradyarhythmias

Sinus bradycardia Represent suppression of sinus node discharge rate  Physiologic >> in well controlled athletes, during sleep, vagal stimulation  Pharmacologic >> B-blocker, digoxin, opioids, calcium channel blocker  Pathologic >> acute inferior wall MI, increase ICP, carotid sinus hypersensitivity, hypothyroidism

Sinus bradycardia

1st degree AV block

2nd degree AV block  Mobitz I (Wenckebach)

2nd degree AV block  Mobitz II
