Faculty of Computing and Information Technology 62 Faculty of Computing and Information Technology The Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FOCS) was set up from both the renowned Faculty of Applied Sciences and Computing, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) and the School of Arts and Science, Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) which was established in February 1972. The mission of FOCS is to nurture and produce digital tech talents in cutting-edge technology, promoting innovations and technopreneurship to meet the current needs of the industry in the digital economy. FOCS offers programmes at Diploma and Bachelor levels. Currently, FOCS has a close academic collaboration with Campbell University, USA to offer Dual Award Degree to students at Bachelor level. Students are simultaneously prepared for the programme offered by FOCS, as well as Bachelor of Science (BS) degree of Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina, USA. The Faculty embarks actively in research and development through academia-industry collaboration. Currently, the Faculty has 3 main research centres in the area of Software Development (which includes web and mobile platforms), Software Engineering, Computer Networking, Cyber Security, Interactive Software, Computational Intelligence, STEM Education, Internet of Things(IoTs), Data Science and Data Analytics. Recently, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) has been awarded with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Premier Digital Tech University Award endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education, which signifies the excellent quality of the programmes offered by the Faculty.
