The Southern Regional Hospital of Tropical Dermatology, ECNIVORP GNART,YGOLOTAMRED LACIPORT FO LATIPSOH LANOIGER NREHTUOS Trang province, together with the Institute of Dermatology, held the 16th International Conference and Workshop Diploma Course for Doctors in Dermatology and Dermatosurgery on the 12th and 13th November 2019. The event took place in Dr. Preya Kullawanich’s convention room at the Southern Regional Hospital of Tropical Dermatology, Trang province, by which we were honored to have Mr. Luechai Charoensup, the governor of Trang province, as the president of the opening ceremony, and Dr. Narissara Ngamkajornviwat, the director of Southern Regional Hospital of Tropical Dermatology, Trang Province, as the keynote speaker. The honorable guests from the government of public health, Trang province, consisted of the vice public health technical officer, the director of Trang hospital (representative), the director of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Trang province (representative), and the director of Sirindhorn College of Public Health Trang. 3
This conference, as well as the workshop, was held ECNIVORP GNART,YGOLOTAMRED LACIPORT FO LATIPSOH LANOIGER NREHTUOS internationally for doctors from all over ASEAN and Asia- Pacific region. It was a great privilege having 28 doctors from 8 countries, which were Bangladesh, Kingdom of Cambodia, Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of the Philippines, Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and Kingdom of Thailand, to exchange experiences and learn about dermatology problems in the southern part of Thailand, along with the specialized clinical service on dermatology of the Southern Regional Hospital of Tropical Dermatology, Trang Province. 4

The lecture offered the information on cutaneous Tuberculosis. The number of Cutaneous Tuberculosis patients statistically increased for the past, which was per 100,000 populations. The lecture provided information on pathophysiology,Mechanism,indication/Contraindication/Side effects,Pigmented lesion, Tattoo removal, Skin Rejuvenation, Devices, medication and treatment using drugs development from the research study. 6

The lecture offered information on microbiology, factors, pathogenesis, diagnosis, classification, and treatment. Two hospital-based remedies included the liquid soap remedy and the cream remedy with 5% LCD + 0.05 Betamethasone valerate. The workshop was designated for doctors to learn how to prepare drug development and to understand the drug characteristics, in order to effectively prescribe the most suitable medication to the patients. 8

The workshop group 3, “Workshop on phototherapy clinic,” introduced the use of Daavlin phototherapy cabinet for detecting UVA and UVB, consecutively. The workshop group 4, “Workshop on pathology,” demonstrated the laboratory evaluation using potassium hydroxide (KOH), Parker ink stain and preparation and microscopic technique for pityriasis versicolor, dermatophytoses, Candidiasis, chromoblastomycosis, parasite for Sarcoptes scabie, Pediculus humanus, and Demodex. The workshop also displayed the fluorescence study of white piedra on hair using Wood’s lamp and Blacklight blue instruments. 9

All these sessions allowed the doctors who had ECNIVORP GNART,YGOLOTAMRED LACIPORT FO LATIPSOH LANOIGER NREHTUOS participated in the 16th International Conference and Workshop Diploma Course for Doctors in Dermatology and Dermatosurgery to gain more knowledge about tropical dermatology in the regional level, and be able to apply what they had learned to properly treat their dermatology patients in the near future. Most importantly, this conference was the international relations on academic affairs that could lead to research collaboration and knowledge development afterward.
