NW REGIONAL NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER We ended up October off a little in closed volume but we saw a nice increase in credit pulls, applications, and locks which bodes well for November. It’s that time of year when I remind our team to not “fall into fall.” Let the competition think about turkey, pumpkin pie, and Christmas shopping while we focus on providing FANomenal service to our realtors, builders, and customers. There are still people buying and we have the ability to get them home for the holidays. Finish strong! Adam Kessler just posted the 3 quarter results, I am proud to see the Legacy branch rd the #2 branch in the company and Dave Perry and Jason Oswald earning top 10 spots. As we all know it takes a village, and too all of you on the Legacy team, GREAT JOB! Shout out to those that have qualified for President’s Club, Jason Oswald, Dave Perry, Tera Davis, and Kelly Beebe. Kudo’s also to our Executive Club qualifiers, Leon Baker, Scott Petersen, John Spiker, Whittney Curran, Leon McKean, and Ryan Shelby who is one loan away. Still time to improve your ranking! *LOOK FOR THE NORTHWEST REGION’S REFI CONTEST IN THIS NEWSLETTER* We continue to deal with pricing pressure in most all of our markets. I know I sound redundant but we need to get our application to approval timeline decreased. We are nowhere near Adam’s 10 days. This is a team effort, the LO has to turn a quality file in quickly and the processor needs to get it to underwriting as soon as possible. Everyone involved in the relay should be aware of their current turn times. We may not be able to give away the farm like some of the banks and CU’s we are competing with but if we can close substantially faster we will win more deals. As we approach Thanksgiving please think of all those in your personal and professional life and make it a point to say thanks. Christmas is a barrage of cards, presents, and food, the nice things you do at Thanksgiving will truly stand out and show how much you appreciate them, just as I am thankful to work alongside all of you! -Dave Schile “Keep your eyes open to your mercies. The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life.” ~Robert Louis Stevenson

EVELYN COX Did you know? That you should be entering the HFA codes on the FNMA streamline screen on IHFA Preferred loans to get the correct findings. That commission income must have a 2 year history of receipt. That leaving items in the unassigned is not good; leaves it open to underwriters. That you should not be including State tax returns with the Federal Tax returns. That on FHA loans you have to include all debts; unless there is a contingent liability; meaning the person making the payments is also on the debt. (Cosigned obligations) Quotes “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” – Anne Frank “Who speaks ill of others to you will speak ill of you to others.” - German Proverb “If I had nine hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend the first six sharpening my axe.” – Abraham Lincoln “Kid, there are heroes and there are legends. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Follow your heart, kid, and you’ll never go wrong.” – Babe Ruth “Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.” Judy Garland “If something is wrong, fix it now. But train yourself not to worry, worry fixes nothing.” Ernest Hemingway

The Legacy Group of Academy Mortgage partnered with Hayden Homes to package over 10,000 meals with Rise Against Hunger! We had so much fun together while we served those less fortunate. The meals we packaged will be shipped to one of the following countries: the Philippines, Vietnam, or Cambodia. Thank you to all who contributed!!

October was a busy month of fun filled events that the Davis Team Walla Walla, WA was able to be a part of and help sponsor! The Davis Team started off October with Tera’s’ husbands dancing debut at the 3 rd Annual Dancing with the W2 Stars where Academy Mortgage was a sponsor. This event raises money for Valley Residential Services, a local nonprofit in our community that offers supported living, transitional housing and family support. The funds raised were going to help pay the costs to outfit a van with handicap accessibility in order to transport community members. This year’s event had 8 participants and Don raised over $3,300!! The Davis Team had the opportunity to volunteer their time once again for the Annual Walla Walla Association of Realtors Care and Share Food Drive. This food drive is the number one resource for stocking the food banks in our area and it takes an army of volunteers to make it successful. Tera, Janessa and Heather helped deliv- er barrels to the grocery stores for donations to be collected, bags to residents homes in the Walla Walla and College Place area as well as unpacking and sorting the donations collected. As you can see we had an overwhelming response from our community and were able to collect over 32,000 pounds of non-perishable food!!!!

For Halloween this year the Davis Team participated in the First Annual Trunk or Treat at Coldwell Banker First Realty. Trunks were decked out and treats were handed out to the community providing a safe and fun place for kids to come trick or treat. Tera had her ferocious werewolf there to greet the kids while a mysterious ghost handed out candy through the decked out trunk. It was a great event with a huge turn out and we look forward to participating again! Tera Davis had the opportunity to help sponsor an Anti-Bullying speaker that came to our area schools to deliver an amazing message about the effects of bullying and how to stop it. Chris Scheufele from Chris in the Classroom travels to schools all over to help spread the message of anti-bullying and it’s making a positive impact everywhere he goes.
