NW REGIONAL NEWSLETTER Newsletter for April, May, June, and July 2021 Summer when the living is easy! I wish that were the case, with forest fires, heat waves, Delta variant spreading, and continued high mortgage volume it has been anything but easy. We have seen a slowdown in refinances, but overall volume remains strong. The last few months many of you personally and/or your branches have broke records that you had already broken earlier this year. Someday we will look back on this period of pandemic induced mortgage production in awe, until then we need to keep grinding because like musical chairs you never know when the music is going to stop. That said, make sure you keep your life in balance! We are blessed that most of our markets have strong home sales so as long as we are continuing to build realtor and builder relationships the pay checks will keep coming. Its only summer and so far, Jason Oswald, Dave Perry, Tera Davis, Leon Baker, and Kelly Beebe have qualified for President’s Club. Close behind and have already earned their Executive Club status is Whittney Curran, Monica Barton, Scott Petersen, Leon McKean, and Lynn Hergenreder. Lots of time left in the year to earn the opportunity to ride camels in the Holy Land or surf Waikiki! I want to express my appreciation for Ev and all our operations team who have remained focused over the last 17 months. With no winter slow down and the conveyer belt of loans going non-stop you have done an incredible job keeping our boat afloat. I know its not said enough but THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Kudo’s to our folk who participated in the Paradise Give Back, see in newsletter. We will miss Dave Perry who moved his family to Utah to run Academy’s Affinity Program. I want to thank Angela (Angie) Bowden for publishing our newsletter for so many years, she is retiring from our crazy business and will get to have everyday be Saturday. Angie, thanks so much for all you have done for me and the entire team! -Dave Schile Thanks Dave! I really enjoyed doing this for the region. I will miss you all so much! Hugs X ~Angie Bowden

EVELYN COX Did You Know? When entering housing debts on loans with multiple properties; the housing on page 1 of the URLA must match the debt on the VOM screen (full PITIA) – for the primary residence. Washington Housing does not accept “refugee status” as being a permanent resident alien. On a cash-out refinance transaction (conventional) that a POA cannot be used. On VA transactions if using a POA, we will need an “Alive and Well statement” on the veteran on the day of funding. For FHA seasoning, we must go off of the FHA refinance authorization for the Original Closing Date, it must be 12 months from that date. Dad Joke Did you hear about the houses that fell in love? It was a lawn-distance relationship. When does a bed grow longer? At night, because two feet are added to it. Why did the Rooster run away? He was chicken. MANY HANDS HELPED IN PARADISE LEON MCKEAN, MARY SINDORF, AND LAUREN PETERSON REPRESENTED THE NORTHWEST REGION There is no place like Paradise. My sister Avery, my Dad, and I helped wrap the house with a protective layer with the construction crew. We also built little planter boxes that we later planted flowers in. It was such a great opportunity to be able to help the community. Going to Paradise I was so excited to give back and help the people, but I received more in return than I could ever give back. The people of Paradise are so loving and were willing to share their sto- ries that will forever have an impact on my life. It was such a blessing to see how little acts of service can have a ripple effect, that can truly cause changes in the world for the better. ~Lauren Peterson

“Thank you so much Gaby Bertran for all that you do for our office! We have so very much loved having you a part of the team supporting each of us in our roles and being willing to help out however you can! We wish you the very best on your next journey in school and hope you come back to us when you’re all done! Love Heather” “I wanted to say thank you to Tera Davis for supporting my love of serving others through the amazing Academy Corps trips! She is always the first one to say yes and encourage me to go and of course always covers while I’m away. Without her support and encouragement I wouldn’t have been able to follow my passion and change lives. Thank you!” “What a kick butt employee and coworker you are Jessica Rhynard! You are so good at what you do, so willing to help out however you are needed and always give it 100%! Our team won’t be the same without you and the shoes needing to be filled will never quite fit because you are that GOOD! Thanks so much for all your hard work, your commitment, and your teamwork! You will be severely missed and we will welcome you back with open arms anytime (if possible, very soon )!” ~Heather McLean Shout out to Dave Schile who is now a Grandfather to a new baby girl!! Born on August 17th, 2021 her name is Ady. You are going to have fun with that baby girl! CONGRATULATIONS!!! To Ryan, Kelly, Adam, Jeanne & Heather for covering while I was away. I appreciate you all so much! ~Brittany Price I’m so fortunate to be surrounded by such a great team! Darla, Sara, Chealee, Maggie, Brandi, Hannah, Taylor, Tina, Devy, Ev, and special mention to our Condo Project Approval team! Thank you ALL! If it wasn’t for you, the great reviews “we” get would not be possible! ~Mike McLean

I had this about Sara Weekes during the Snake River Stampede week Sara was all set to run flags when she was asked to help with the Cervi Stock Horses! At first Sara was bummed as she wanted to be in the arena but she said she’d love to help as not just anyone is asked to ride the pick up men’s horses, warming them up and cooling them down all through out the rough stock events! Sara LOVED it and hopes she is asked again next year! At the rodeos end she was able to ride their horses and herd the bulls and steers out to the pens Another fantastic opportunity not passed up! I want to acknowledge Ev for a great job that she does managing our Operations and making sure our loans are closing quickly with common sense underwriting with saleable files. She is always available for a quick call on guidelines and scenarios so that when we take an application we know those loans will close. Peace of mind for a Loan Officer is priceless. Thank you, Ev! ~Lynn Hergenreder Hi there! Fran Larsh & Kelly Beebe have been so helpful with my transition from Oregon to Idaho!! Could not have done it without them!! Thank you so much!!! ~Judy Woods

I’d like to give a SHOUT OUT to the Amazing Ladies who I’m blessed to work with every day on our Team. For us, July was our most productive in terms of volume… ever. Sandi Smutny, Dena Perkes, Kris Link, Kristy DeWitt and Haley Paz-Link. Their hearts to do the right thing for our clients and friends, who work each day with the heart of a servant, and who all help me stay on track…I’m grateful for each of YOU! Thank you for being Wonderful, and a massive Joy to be around. I’d also like to give a SHOUT OUT to our Regional Operations for the dedication and resilience they show day after day. You’re Awesome! On time, every time, and that is such a difference maker in our market. We get deals because the community knows that Academy will perform on time…no doubt about it! Thank you! Your being the Best in the Business helps us be the Best we can be. You Matter, and we see and appreciate you! Lastly, we were able to visit the home office in July, and I really enjoyed spending time with and getting to meet much of the Home Office staff and Leadership. Actually, not just meet them, but spend quality time with many staff and department heads talking about what they do. They were asking us how they can better support us in the field...just the question means a lot! You all are on your game! It seems that we heard “Yes, we can do that” or “Actually, we already have that system” was the day’s recurring theme. What a pleasure to be part of a company and family who doesn’t pass the buck…but instead, finds the paper, the ink, the printer, who then makes and owns the buck. (Not literally, of course ) Nicely Done! Thank you! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to so many awesome people. Grateful for each of you! Special note and shout out to Dave Perry, who has transitioned to the Home Office. The best way to describe my feeling is that Michael Jordan just retired, and I couldn’t touch him when he was playing, and certainly can’t now. I don’t know what to say about Jason Oswald. You two are amazing men, leaders, and friends…thank you! God Bless You, ~Leon Baker

You supported me and helped me when I needed it the most and it was almost like you read my mind sometimes. I couldn't have done the marketing job without you and your great suggestions for Jennifer and Ryan. You will go far my friend!! Laura Alexander, I appreciate you wanting to learn part of the marketing role and helping out my loan officers, I know you will do the best you can to help support them. I know you will learn to work with that stupid printer so don’t let it get the best of you, LOL! Wink, wink. I WISH EVERYONE THE BEST ALWAYS, AND I WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH, TAKE CARE! (I promise this will be my last newsletter to you all) LOL ~Angela Bowden

Judi Pierce: I am amazed at how quickly you are catching on and how well you are doing with the volume we are experiencing! Thanks for your hard work and incredible customer service! You are truly an asset to your branch Judi! Georgea and Mike Lipinski: I can't begin to count how many times I am \"dropping in\" on her office to ask questions or even just bounce a scenario off Georgea. Every time, she is available and goes the extra mile to help! She has rescued several files that I thought didn't stand a chance! Georgea and Mike make the downtown Nampa office a fun place to work!
