NW REGIONAL NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY and MARCH Oops, we missed sending out the February newsletter, not really it was just not a pretty month, we only closed 30.5M and the Executive Club Trip to Mexico goofed up the timing to publish. That said March was much better, we closed 46.7M, YEA! Winter ended and spring began and based on activity everyone should be in full swing. Our friends in the media along with the rate gurus are highlighting the recent reduction in interest rates and it’s causing an uptick in refinances. We are a purchase centric company but a loan is a loan is a loan. Managers work with your sales team to touch their data bases through snail mail, social media, direct calls, or all of the above. Strike while the irons hot! Please enjoy the pictures from Los Cabos in the newsletter it was a fun trip, the high- light was having Tera Davis receive the Duane Shaw Achievement Award! Tera was also one of the women from Academy honored by the NAMMBA. Jason Oswald was listed in the Scotsman Magazine for his top performance in 2018. Jason, Tera, Dave Perry, Scott Peterson, and Leon Baker were recognized for 2018 in the Top 1% of Mortgage Originators in America. Great Job all of you! We are excited to welcome Ramon Menchaca, Mardee Rosenkrance, Alicia Chavez, and Lacey Hulet to the NW Region Sales Team! They too will learn soon how special our operations team is at supporting the sales group. I will put our admin’s, proces- sors, underwriters, and closing group against anyone in the country when it comes to working together for a common goal of providing excellent service to our clients and customers. You ROCK! With the first quarter in the books it is time to look at your goals and see if you are exceeding, tracking, almost there, or back to the drawing board. So much of how we perform comes from that 6 inch space between our ears. If you have ever stood over a 4 ft. putt like Tiger did Saturday at the WGC Match play that would have possibly advanced him to the semifinal and he pushed it right, you know what I mean. Bad self -talk does not allow your mind to clearly move your body and action to your goal. If we apply that to our personal and professional goals we can’t reach success if our 6 inches is telling us were going to miss. “Good putters believe they are good putters.” – Curtis Strange -Dave Schile

Freddie Mac has changed the way in which it will review Alimony or maintenance payments; instead of using as a debt, beginning July 6, 2019; it will be a reduction of income. Quotes of the day Commit yourself to constant self-improvement. Judge your success by the degree that you’re enjoying peace, health, and love. Evaluate yourself by your own standards, not someone else’s. Never eat the last cookie. Every day look for some small way to improve the way you do your job. Remember no one makes it alone. Have a grateful heart and be quick to acknowledge those who help you. Just to see how it feels, for the next 24 hours refrain from criticizing anybody or anything. Let your children overhear you saying complimentary things about them to other adults. Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power, or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect.

CHOOSE YOUR ATTITUDE: Laugh a little!!

We are heading into the time of year where we all take time off, it’s good to know we have the team work in place to allow us to leave and not worry about our files. I will work on the meat and potatoes portion now.  ~Ev Cox

I’d like to give a SHOUT OUT to Jonathan Michalski for his years of effort and excellence putting out our Loan Docs! He always had a “Can Do” and “Whatever Needs to be Don I Can Do!” spirit about him, and that is so helpful when the crunch time comes. He has transitioned to being a Loan Officer, and we wish him the very best. Thank You, Michalski! Nicely Done! God Bless You, ~Leon Baker I would like to give a shout out to Kelly and Dennis Beebe for making it possible for two of her support staff to compete for a chance to win a paid service expedition. What a generous and rewarding thing to do, in my opinion! Thank you!! ~Angela Bowden Thank you to Tak for being so quick and communicative with his underwrites! Thanks for hanging with us when the going gets tough and for allowing us to “think outside the box” ~Manesseh Castro Shout out to Natalie Svaty for being a rock star in her job and cov- ering the front desk when needed. She does it without being asked, with a smile, and with exceptional customer service! A true example of taking ini- tiative and working for the greater good of the branch. -Anonymous

I’ve done many things, all revolving around sales.  I am a part time nanny and I love children and being a support system and role model to them as they figure out how to do life. It is a huge passion of mine.

SAY HELLO TO OUR NEWEST DISTRICT BRANCH ELKO, NEVADA I’m an Elko Local originally from the Alicia Chaves Bay Area which is where I started my LOAN OFFICER career in sales! Having experience working in such a metropolitan area but having the heart of a Northern NV local has been my secret sauce to success! I loving the actual job of being a Loan Officer and setting families up in the right path so they can become a home owner whether that be a First Time homebuyer or a family building their Dream Home! Relationship building has always been my specialty and I value making quality connection with the people around me. I’m well known as a “4th Quarter All Star.” Meaning, the job will always get done at the highest level I just might be coming in hot from pulling it off! I’m blessed from our Father above to be the mother to my two sons Lukas & Alvaro. We are all about the experience from our backyard to traveling all over; we just love to be together. My aspirations in life right now is to run a $2 million pipe- line, be Team Mom, get a puppy, and take my babies on 2 vacations this year! Lacey Hulet LOAN OFFICER ASSISTANT TO ALICIA CHAVES I was born and raised in Cedar City Utah, and that is where I meet my husband of 20 Years and we have 2 wonderful kids, and enjoy traveling, hunting and fishing. I started my career in the title industry in the early 2000’s and worked my way up to opening and running a title company in Southern Utah. In 2010 we moved to Nevada, where I worked as a consumer loan officer and received my Mortgage License in 2018. That is when I knew I had found my calling, helping families achieve their dreams of homeownership. I have worked with Alicia and Academy Mortgage since July 2018 and have learned so much. I am really excited to see what the future holds as a mother, wife and team member of Academy Mortgage.

RETIREMENT KAREN WRIGHT IN IOWA I’ve been dreading this day for a while now. I selfishly want you to work forever, but I know there are grand kids to be loved, books to be read, and trips to be taken. How can work compete with that? So, I will just say thank you. Thank you for being a great friend, an amazing leader, and the best boss (ever!). Thank you for your never wavering passion for the work, the clients, and the business partners. Thank you for your patience when I was learning, and sometimes re- learning, from my mistakes. Thank you for being an ear, a hug, and voice of reason - some- times all of those at once. Thank you for being such a huge supporter of my family, through all of our crazy up and downs over the years. But most of all, thank you for being mymentor. When I think of success, I think of you. Because of you I learned that my own success will be found helping others succeed. Help- ing others find pride. Pride that they CAN fix their credit, pride they CAN buy a house, pride that they CAN provide for the their family. I learned if I do these things, for the right reasons, I won't need to go looking for my success, it will find me. You should know that I’m so very proud of you and what your legacy stands for. You reached the top and stayed there for 30 + years, not many can say that. You rocked it Karen! Thanks Karen, for everything. Oh, and congratulation on your retirement! ~ Anna Wilson “Thanks Karen for what has been a wonderful ride with you the last 10 yrs at Academy, you will be missed!” ~Dave Schile In 2010 when I returned to Academy Mortgage with many more faces on board; I had the pleasure of getting to know Karen; she has always been a pleasure to work with. From working together we have shared a lot of fun times and shared some not so fun times; I feel that she is a lifelong friend and wish her only the best in her up and coming adventures. ~EV I will miss all of the hilarious conversations we have had over the years, some at the loan’s expense, some at ourselves. You are truly a good egg in my basket of life and I will sincerely miss you. Take care and enjoy your retirement. ~Tina Helm

GIVING OF OURSELVES PASSION, PRODUCTIVITY, SELFLESSNESS “Tera Davis and the Davis Team in Walla Walla were honored to sponsor a table at the Annual Sweethearts for Kids Benefit Luncheon on February 20th. This luncheon raises money to help support children and their families in the Walla Walla Community through providing a streamlined and cohesive support system for children and families to access various services that meet all their needs. This year’s keynote speaker was Marla Chapra who’s personal testimonial shared why we were all there supporting such an amazing organization.” RATHDRUM ROCKS IT!! GREAT JOB!!!! They collected over 1000lbs of food in 3 hours for the Rathdrum Food Bank.

GIVING OF OURSELVES PASSION, PRODUCTIVITY, SELFLESSNESS “The Davis Team had such a great time volunteering with the BMAC Food Bank and their Backpack Brigade event where we packed 300 bags with food to send with children over spring break. The team spent 2 hours assisting with other members of the community putting together much needed supplies to help kids and their families out.” “Tera Davis and the 100 Women Who Care Walla Walla Valley organization held their 2nd event where they had over 105 attendees and more than 155 people who donated $100 each!! Something that started out as a simple concept of wanting 100 Women to donate $100 each is growing beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. At the event we heard from the 3 nominees who were all so very deserving of the money. In the end, Annett with Hope Heals was cast as the winner by majority vote and took home a check for $15,500. She plans to use the funds to create a day center where homeless individuals can come and get much needed care, a shower, clean clothes and a meal. We look forward to the next event coming up in September. If you’d like to participate please visit www.100wallawallawomen.com
