A return to tradition, a rediscovering of nature…
modernism and tradition
The StoneThat's where it all began. The common desire of the project manager and the architect is torestore the stone’s natural old charm. The stone was the main construction element of ourtraditional Lebanese houses of simple volumes.Hence the idea to realize a project of individual residences, mainly built of natural uncutstones extracted from the site. The general concept was to preserve the natural landscapesThe project fits perfectly into its surroundings by encrusting itself into the stonework alreadypresent and by the planted roofs. Minimalism and respect for the environment. Such is thelanguage adopted in this dream project.
LES RACINES DE FAQRA, as the name suggests, it's a return to roots. Those of our traditional Lebanese houses built of uncutnatural stone, without red tiles and arcades; they enjoy a simple and minimalist volumetry. This house was the inspiration of thisproject, its starting point. Combining subtle modernism and tradition, the architect has developed the house of our forefathers, insisting on the integration of bay windows, in order to enjoy panoramic views of 180 degrees. Each house will benefit from allits environment, the view, the calm, the water and the nature ...
The project is clearly characterized by its ecological aspect. A planted roof promotes the integration of the house in itsenvironment, while ensuring freshness in summer and insulation in winter. The house benefits from a natural heating, due to thegreenhouse effect produced by a large zenith opening and a bay window facing the south. Finally, the double natural stonewalls of 40 cm thick offer a perfect thermal insulation.
