Our current Year 11 are on track to achieve the school’s best ever results and we are immensely proud of each one of them. Their legacy will be the grades they achieve this summer and the various ways in which they have touched the heart of The Kingsway School. We will miss them but it is time to release them in to the world to achieve their destiny!2

Ice Blast: Kingsway’s Superheroes Head to the Italian Alps to Conquer Claviere! – L. Davies What do Spartans, Mighty Ducks, Rebels and Avengers all have in common? They are not the subject of a new Hollywood blockbuster about to hit your screens but rather the various groups of students in Kingsway’s week long ski and snowboard holiday to Claviere. Although this started out as an amusing way to call students for registration (and an excuse to bellow war cries down the mountain) our students came to embody the key attributes of their fictional factions. There was plenty Spartan grit and determination in the face of adversity, an abundance of Avenger-like team work, the champions’ resolve of the Mighty Ducks, as well as the humour and fighting spirit so often attributed to a rebel cause. Our students’ super progress and hero-like attitude did not go unnoticed by the adults they came into contact with whilst away. They were commended by ski instructors for their work ethic, technique and determination; the ski company representative for their behaviour and dance moves and even the serving staff for their politeness, good manners and how they would eat anything put in front of them! Our miniature heroes showed their metal not just on the piste, but also off it. The students enjoyed a luge ride, disco, karaoke and some fine Italian dining! As a staff we felt immensely proud of our students and the superpowers they displayed. They represented the school as if the flying lion itself emblazoned their chest although thankfully there was a conspicuous absence of underpants outside of trousers. The highly anticipated sequel is already being planned, keep an eye on the sky the Spartans, Mighty Ducks, Rebels and Avengers will return…. Trip leader Ms Clarke’s Final Word Buses – N.
