WINNING WORDS THE SCHOOL CAPTAINS SPEAK It is often said that “Counting Time is not half as important as making Time count”. And if that be so, then the short time of about one year that I was fortunate enough to spend at APS,Bolarum was truly memorable and educative.The year 2020 was perhaps an unprecedented year, for myriad reasons. As Albert Einstein had once said, “In the middle of difficulty lies Opportunity”. Our School was at the forefront of realizing the opportunity in the midst of tough times in the past year,and utilized it to instill a new sense of values, an innovative culture and develop new skill sets in the entire spectrum consisting of students, teachers and parents. And then came the challenges posed by the Covid conundrum. Blackboards replaced by computer screens, the bustling corridors of the school replaced by an eerie silence, swirling uncertainties in the minds of students and teachers, and lurking fears about the future. But in spite of all the challenges we bow before the teachers who left no stone unturned to ensure that every nuance, every formula and every concept was explained again and again until we started reciting it in our sleep. Online classes gave a new dimension to education and brought new dimensions and meaning to education wherein there were no barriers of time and space. This new mode forced many to think out of the box and stimulated the latent creativity in each student. To conclude, this is an ode to all our wonderful teachers, who overcame every challenge posed to them to continue imparting knowledge, constantly trying their best to ensure we never felt the absence of physical classes; our parents who stood with us through thick and thin supporting us throughout; and to all my batch mates who are at the brink of a new chapter in their lives, wishing you all the luck and success! I would like to begin by extending my sincere gratitude to our school principal, Mrs Smitha Govind, for giving me an opportunity to lead, learn and excel by appointing me as the School Captain and also to my teachers and my parents who supported and encouraged me endlessly to recognise my potential. Out of my last four years in the school, this academic session has been the most challenging. In the year where we were confided behind screens and forced to withdraw from all social interactions, the school has been a great source of hope. All of us thought that we will be missing out on our last year of school but I am immensely grateful for all that the school did for us and never once let us feel that we were losing out on a wonderful school experience. The school has helped me realise my qualities as an individual and has transformed me from a reluctant participant to a confident leader. I would like to end by saying that the life lessons taught to me during my time at APSB have been truly inspiring and I cannot begin to tell you how much I will miss the school, the staff and all the students. Each and every one of you is unique and have capabilities beyond your imagination. I hope that all my juniors continue to make our school proud and that our school continues to build strong leaders as it did for me. I wish everyone all the best for their future. NDA /TES There is no greater service than being a guide for someone and work selflessly so that they may achieve their dream and I believe that my teachers just fit the role perfectly. My dream of joining the Armed forces has a long past but thanks to all my mentors who have guided me to make this my future . I owe my sincere gratitude to all my teachers for their constant support and encouragement. The discipline which I instilled from school helped me to deal with the challenges I had faced during the selections. Undoubtedly this is the best profession anyone can take up and I suggest every one to do so. The teachers have taught us how to work hard and enjoy at the same time and that now I'm going to join the Armed forces to serve the nation, I will miss the best time of my life in APS,Bolarum. I once again thank Principal ma’am and all my teachers for believing in me and supporting me no matter what and now when I look back I remember all the good times I had spent. The school as a whole has an atmosphere of thriving for success and holding pride in one's achievements, with the most knowledgeable and gracious set of teachers to guide us throughout and our peers being the biggest motivating factor yet the best competition, it has served as an ideal platform for me to achieve my goal of joining the Indian Army through the Technical Entry Scheme(TES).
