Cinderella has got a father. She hasn’t got a mother. Her father is a good man. But he marries a bad woman. Now Cinderella has got a stepmother. The stepmother has got two girls. They are Cinderella’s stepsisters. Cinderella is kind. She is good to her stepmother and her new sisters. 4

But Cinderella’s father dies. Now Cinderella lives with her stepmother and her stepsisters. Cinderella is beautiful, but the sisters are ugly. They don’t like Cinderella. They are very bad. ‘You’re a lazy girl,’ say the sisters. ‘You must go to the kitchen. You must cook and clean.’ Poor Cinderella! The birds and the mice are Cinderella’s friends. PRIMARY CLASSIC READERS LEVEL 1 Cinderella is the tale of a kind young girl who lives with her stepmother and her two stepsisters and magically changes her life when her fairy godmother appears.
