หลกั การใช้ Present Perfect Tense คอื 1. ใชก้ บั เหตุการณ์ทีเ่ พงิ่ จบไป หรือเพง่ิ จบลงใหม่ ๆ มกั จะมีคำวา่ just, already หรอื yet ในประโยค เชน่ Has the train arrived yet? (รถไฟมาถงึ หรอื ยงั ) 2. ใชก้ บั เหตกุ ารณท์ ่ีเกดิ ขนึ้ ตง้ั แตอ่ ดตี และมผี ลหรือยงั คงสภาพจนถงึ ปจั จบุ นั แตเ่ หตกุ ารณ์ นน้ั ไดจ้ บลงไปแลว้ โดยสว่ นใหญจ่ ะมคี ำวา่ since, for, ever since, so far อยใู่ น ประโยค เชน่ I’ve known her for years. 3. ใชใ้ นการเลา่ ประสบการณต์ า่ ง ๆ สว่ นใหญจ่ ะมคี ำวา่ never, ever, once, twice รวมอยดู่ ว้ ย เชน่ Have you ever been to Japan? (คณุ เคยไปประเทศญป่ี นุ่ ไหม) 4. ใชใ้ นโครงสรา้ ง If-clause แบบท่ี 1 ในสว่ นของเงอ่ื นไขทแ่ี สดงวา่ ถา้ ทำเหตกุ ารณห์ นง่ึ เสรจ็ แลว้ อกี เหตกุ ารณจ์ ะเกดิ ขน้ึ เชน่ The children can go out, if they have finished their homework. (เดก็ ๆ สามารถออกไปเลน่ ขา้ งนอกได้ ถา้ พวกเขาทำการบา้ นเสรจ็ )
