Doug Roberts Golf Tip - Visual Video Training Many top players are at their best when they are able to trust their feelings of the physical movements in their golf swings. Most train and fine tune their swing adjustments utilizing visual, video swing analysis and/or launch monitors. Here at Entrada, we are fortunate to have daily access to the #1 rated Golf Swing Analysis Software, JC Video. I emphasize in my lessons that the video system is for the student, not the teacher. A good teacher caneasily see where and how the player can improve without a video system, howeverit can be a challenge to have the student properly and efficiently trust how to makeneeded adjustments. This is where seeing is believing. For most players, “feel” is not “real”. What I mean by that is that what they thinkthey're doing, isn't usually what's happening. A properly guided video lesson willallow the player to know, without doubt, that their “feel” is truly producing a better“real”. Visual video training will help you practice better and play better.Calling All Members!! Entrada needs your helpwith the coordination of the BYU at EntradaClassic. Intervals improves Blood Glucose Disposal for Type 2 DiabeticsA study published in Diabetologia showed groups of exercisers in 3 control groups;control, interval walking or continuous walking. Insulin secretion, glucose metabolismand insulin-signaling measures were taken before and at the conclusion of the study. The group that experienced significant improvement inglycemic control was the interval-walking exercisers.Changes in the two other groups were insignificant.“These results suggest that training with alternatingintensity, and not just training volume and mean intensity, Is the key determinant of change in whole body glucosedisposal in individuals with type 2 diabetes,” concluded the study. At the Entrada Sports and Fitness Center we have multiple classes to lead youthrough an interval workout.Try any of our 4pm classes Monday - FridayTuesday 11am Sole Tread

Submitted by Mike “Boe” Boera2331 W Entrada Trail #8828 Dec, 2015 An Entrada Welcome New 2015 members of the Entrada at Snow Canyon community, Mike and Carrie Boera, welcomed their son, U.S. Marine Corps Captain Benjamin Boera, and his wife, Sarah, and dog, Belleau, to their Entrada home for the holidays. They were also welcoming Ben back from a seven-month combat deployment to the Middle East. He served as an AV-8B Harrier fighter pilot flying combat missions off the USS Essex. He returned home to Yuma, Arizona, just a week prior to joining his parents in Entrada on December 20th for the holidays. Mom and Dad Boera are certainly proud of their son and happy to have him back safely. (Pictured, Mike and Carrie on the left with Ben on the right of the welcome sign.)Dealing with combat deployments is nothing new to the Boera Family. Mike and Carrie settled onEntrada at Snow Canyon as their new home after Mike retired from the U.S. Air Force as a MajorGeneral in 2014 after serving for almost 33 years during which he was involved in combat operationsincluding Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Northern Watch, Southern Watch, Allied Force, andEnduring Freedom. He flew 200 combat missions, mostly in the F-16, and during his last combatdeployment to Afghanistan, 2009-2010, he served in country with Ben…at the same time! Mike and Carrie also have a grown daughter, Arlie Lowrie, who also served in the Air Force asa nurse before she got out to support her Air Force husband, Captain Jake Lowrie, also an F-16fighter pilot (who will transition in the near future to the F-35), and care for Mike and Carrie’s twograndchildren (note: each of the grandkids’ first word said was “jet”; go figure!). It was during Mikeand Carrie’s post Air Force retirement travels that brought them to Entrada. They made multipletrips up and down I-15 visiting their kids and grandkids splitting time between Hill AFB in Ogden tothe north (where Jake was stationed at the time) and Yuma to the south. It just so happened thatMike had developed a friendship with Entrada member, Lieutenant Colonel (retired) JerryYoungblood, during a combat deployment that had them both stationed at Incirlik Air Base in Turkeyin 2001. Their friendship was forged in fire by combat operations, as well as on the Incirlik golf links, which they enjoyed during their down time. Jerry, or callsign, “Blood”, who retired a few yearsbefore Mike did and found Entrada in 2012 moving here from Alabama, had told “Boe” if he ever gotout this way, he should stop by and visit. He thought Boe would like what he saw as a fellow golfer…and he was right! While still living out of suitcases on their post-retirement travels, Mike and Carrie pulled intoEntrada for what was supposed to be a quick two-hour visit as 2014 drew to a close. As soon as theypulled through the gates of Entrada at Snow Canyon framed by Big Red to the north and the red cliffsto the east, they knew they were entering someplace special. The rest is history as they say. Bloodand his wife, Barbara, graciously showed them around the neighborhood that first stop, and thenhooked them up with super realtor, Vicky Milliken, during a subsequent, planned visit to start thesearch for their own piece of paradise here at Entrada. It took a few months and a few more visits, but it all came together in May, 2015, when they closed on their home on West Entrada Trail—AnEntrada Welcome that never would have happened had it not been for a shared combat deployment14 years earlier!
