Rtr. Faheem Bagwan Q) As life is getting stressful day by day, especially for the youth, have you faced any mental health issues? 1. Yes, I have battled and survived clinical depression for 1-1.5 years, three years ago when I was in SE. 2. More recently i.e. 3 months ago, I was diagnosed with psychosomatic stress, I was even hospitalized for chest pains which were due to psychosomatic stress. Q) What did you do to overcome it? 1. Consulted a psychiatrist and took medical assistance. 2. Underwent extensive therapy sessions by going to a counselor. Did a lot of self reflecting, analyzing and transforming work. 3. By being conscious and taking into account every action I do and every step that I take. 4. Thus, all this was possible only because of my supportive parents. Q) Any words of encouragement for people going through the same? 1. The things which make us depressive today will not even bother us after a passage of a certain period of time. 2. Time will heal everything but only if we allow it to heal from within. 3. Accept the reality and realize that a few things are not in the control of human beings. 4. Everyone's success is different. Define it for yourself. Rtr. Ekta Singh Q) As life is getting stressful day by day, 49 especially for the youth, have you faced any mental health issues? From watching cartoons to watching movies and web series till late night, we all grew up. Everyone have a moment when we all grew up. The moment when we all loved each other, care for each other, felt good for each other's good times and feeling sad for them in their bad times to hating everyone, stopping to care about anyone, talking rudely and arrogantly, jealousy taking over us. We all started feeling bad for someone's success by thinking that I could get that(success) and feeling great after seeing people suffer thinking that they deserve it. From being a good hearted person to heartless , we all grew up. Some grow up fast while some grow up slow. I personally believe that time and the situation are the greatest teacher, they teaches the person some painful but very meaningful lessons. They are the reason for a person to become a mature person from a childiah person. Now, I will talk about the moment i felt like I grew up. I grew up too fast mentally. I had many ups and downs in last 3 years. My biggest turning point came after I completed my SSC. I wanted to be a fashion designer but my father had dreaed about me becoming and IIT Engineer. So my life turned into a little mess. Since I was forced to take science and go to Allen career institute for further studies. As we all know people should do what they are made for infact in 3 idiots Farhan said that \"Abba, Engineer toh ban jaunga but voh koi kaam ka nahi hoga, degree koi kaam nahi aayegi.\" sometimes I feel like that. Back to the story, so as i expected I didn't do well in JEE exam and due to that i messed my life(12th results which is so called reflection of our future) All at that time I was feeling like there is no one standing beside me to comfort me but like a beam of light in a dark room my parents came and stood beside me and comforted me in that worst moment. But by my luck you can say I did great job in MHT-CET exam and got admission in Thakur college of Engineering and Technology. I had a love life through but it's just a worst part of my life so I would not share be sharing it here. So once I entered my Engineering life things were going good untill things started getting worse. Getting scoled for no reason, those scarcastic words of my parents, uff........ It really Hurts. Rotaract Club of TCET
Rtr. Ekta Singh I mean we are in our adolescence and going through this in this generation is really hectic and tough. We need a support sholder to cry on and let things out, But the thing is that our parents doesn't understand that, They think the teenagers at there time is same as teenagers now but who will tell them that. I won't or another kind of fight will start, you can relate I don't need to explain it. If our parents want us to share things with them not to act a whole heartless ,Rude and Arogant person infront of them,bruhhh!!.... It should be your duty to ask us how was our day? Did we enjoy our day? Rather than just scolding you should soften your tone to talk to us for just one moment and to be very honest that soft tone can literally make us very happy and can light up our day, but naah! They will never change so I give up. No we all have to go through peer pressure as well as parential pressure. This is life let's live it and also try finding happiness i small things. Q) What did you do to overcome it? This was a talk about my mental state which is kinnda depressed, well sometimes it's on the peak I mean a whole depressed person took over me and kinnda start feeling to give up! To this kind of mental state I need a mental peace. The definition for mental peace changes from person to for me it is just walking with out destination with music no one beside me just me and only me. Sitting on the edge of cliff sipping tea while watching sunrise. Sitting on the beach all alone and watching sunset. Watching on the shore of the beach in the light of moon and stars with that sound of water hitting the shore. Travelling but without any destination. I just want to enjoy the journey rather than just reaching the destination. I want to enjoy and explore the smallest part of the world and never stopping or haunting. We'll everyone should do whatever they like, I know things can't be always on your side but still never give up. Just think about What you have dreamed about and give a fight for it. Rtr. Ekta Singh Q) Any words of encouragement for people going through the same? Just remember one thing. Every thing is empty, Though we'd be the happiest person when we'd reach the summit, but now we find ourself running, since like forever on this very hope,we are unable to see things clearly. That's a big mistake, all of these are just tricks. No one's ahead of you ,nor is anyone behind. you aren't above anyone, nor is anyone below you. Comparison can only make you restless. You are stressed for no reason you are running in vain,it's important to move forward but it's more important to enjoy the journey. There is nothing like your final destination you just have to keep walking down different paths. God has given you everything yet what are you searching for? You will never know but all you'll do is keep walking until you turn into ashe. After disturbing your perfect life with greed .you have started on a journey is there any guarantee that things you seek would quench your greed? And is there any warranty of the things that you already have would those stay forever? So just take a break and look around what you have and enjoy it. Enjoy the fruit of your handwork. So enjoy the present stop thinking about future and stressing yourself!! Rotaract Club of TCET 51
