Deur Readers / Liewe Lesers Spring has Sprung Winter has finally packed its bags to go on a nine months international holiday and Spring is awaiting the “Au Revoirs” at the customs of life, patiently waiting it’s turn to be announced on the stage of life 2021 as we know it. There are not many things as certain as the arrival of each new season and with the coming of Spring it is no different than all the years before and all the many years to come. Every year, the cold of winter melts away and Spring births a new beginning. New beginnings are never easy, but a pre requisite for growth and transformation. There are a lot of hidden promises harboured in the bosom of Spring. These promises bring excitement in the change from cold to warmer days and although change is never comfortable and although we tend to cling to the ever so familiar, Spring proclaims the arrival of sunshine, showers and laughter. It is a paintbrush that does not only transform the landscape from a dull brownish colour pallet of the past three months to the brightest splendor of green, pink and other pastels, but it is also washes down our dusty and dirty emotions and focus on life. It brings the birth of new things, we see new and tender leaves emerging from the seemingly dried branches and the birds, who remained silent throughout the winter season, break their silence with a choir of sweet songs, thanking God for the multitude of beauty in new melodies announcing the new season Spring is also the arrival of beautiful sights as nature is in full bloom, almost as if it is bragging with its colourful potential. The colourful fields fill our hearts and minds with hope, while farmers are awaiting their ripening crops…food for the nation …soon happy because they will reap the reward of their months of long labour and hope…their season of waiting soon to end. The air is filled with a feeling of plenty whilst the colourful landscape denotes the feeling of energy, a vivid and passionate pulse of life. Spring is in the air. Sy het groot naam begin maak in die filmbedryf as aktrise en groot rolle vertolk in films soos ‘Tess’, ‘Hollywood In My Huis’, ‘The Recce’, ‘Bellade Vir ‘n Enkeling’ asook tv-reekse soos ‘Die Boekklub’ en ‘Fynskrif ’.
