[" . n h u u \n f e - e g ","Annual Report 2024-25 \nKrida \u2013 in the pursuit of well-being is what we have chosen as this year\u2019s Annual \nDay theme. \nWell-being, as you all know is a complex combination of a person\u2019s physical, \nmental, emotional and social factors. Krida is a Sanskrit word that translates \ninto play or sport or any form of physical activity. So put together, we wish to \nhighlight, how physical activities is a pre-requisite to fitness, how active \npursuit of various activities, the right choices and the right life style can lead \nto a state of holistic health. When holistic education has been our focus, \nholistic health makes it all encompassing. \nSo all our activities have always been intended to make our children feel \nenergised, inspired and feel alive. \nThis academic year\u2019s activities started off with a noble venture of \nunderstanding our environment and trying to preserve its bounties. This we \nbelieve is the need of the hour. \nThrough our association with the EFI (Environmental Foundation of India), our \nstudents got an opportunity to volunteer for a lake clean up activity at \nPeriyakulam lake in the month of April. This beautiful association with Mr. Arun \nKrishnamoorthy, Indian activist and Founder of EFI, helped us venture into \nmany such environment conservation activities throughout the year. I run you \nthrough some of them \u2013 \nThe \n\u2018Environmental \nMindfulness\u2019 \nsession, \norganised \nby \nMr. \nArun \nKrishnamoorthy for the students of middle school, followed by our students \nmaking seed balls and later planting them at the Kaliyaperumal and Periyakuttai \nlakes, our students participating in a bird watching activity at the \nneighbourhood lakes learning about their migratory practises, also participating \nin eco strolls, a walk to know more about ecology, participating in a cyclake, i.e., \ncycling to a lake to create awareness on lake conservation, and many more such \noutdoor learning experiences. ","5 of our students are getting themselves ready to visit the Mudumalai forest \nin another two days to learn how forests are an integral part of our eco \nsystem. Pariddhi of class 8, Kanusiya, Sudharsan, Sabarish & Nithin of class 9 \nhave won this trip as a reward for winning the quiz competition conducted by \nthe EFI. \nContinuing with Environmental awareness and conservation based activities, our \nstudents participated in an international event, the Ted-Ed connect week and \nshared their ideas on the topic \u2018Exploring the oceans\u2019. Students of grade 7 \nparticipated in yet another water conservation awareness session \n\u2018Sittukkaludan Siruthuli\u2019 orgranised at the Noyyal life centre. \nOur Eco club students organised a plastic collection drive partnering with \nGreen Cycle Solutions and collected about 450 kgs of plastic waste. They also \nextended this awareness session to the local communities in our neighbourhood. \nTaking up a project on Garbage disposal and waste management, our team of 6 \nstudents Rashmitha, Dhanya and Laksita of class 9 and Jai Rakshana, Ahanya \nand Theja of class 8 participated in a National level competition by 1M1B and \nIBM Skill build and was adjudged winners at the National Level. \nIn yet another event titled Future tech for Sustainability challenge, organised \nby 1M1B, Gurucharan and Krishvanth of class 8 have been selected for an \ninternship programme at Aditya Birla Fashion Retail, Bangalore. They will be \nattending the same in January 2025. \n\u2018Climate change is a global challenge\u2019 \u2013 our students attended an interactive \nsession held by Mr. Kumaraguru Manikavasagam, a farmpreneur from Kotagiri, \nwho highlighted the dangers of climate change and cautioned us of our actions. \nWe are extremely glad that we have been able to give our students some \nhands-on experiences of the outside world, allowing them to experience nature \nand become more responsive to the environment they are in. It must never be \nprofit over planet. It is our duty to preserve Earth\u2019s beauty. \nFrom the outdoors, moving into the indoors, let me showcase the spectrum of \nvibrance that happen in campus. ","In order to make our students future ready, we organise a series of awareness \nsessions throughout the year. \n\uf0ab \nClass 12 attended a Career guidance program held at Dr. NGP Institute of \nTechnology in April. Mr. Ashwin, the Career Guidance expert shared some \nvery valuable and insightful tips on career choices. \n\uf0ab \nOur students attended another career guidance programme orgranised by \nCareer Zone in April, where they gained information about overseas \neducation, the SAT assessments and other such requirements. \n\uf0ab \nStudents of middle school attended a session on Financial fluency, the art \nof money management in June. Mr. Prakash Balakrishnan, Business head \u2013 \nThink Tech Solutions, Singapore spoke about savings and recommended \ninvestment from a young age. \n\uf0ab \nStudents of grade 4 attended a Kutty Cop Road safety awareness session \nconducted by Ms. Shruthi Rajasekar from Yi Thalir. \n\uf0ab \nGrade 5 students attended an awareness session on \u2018health and diet\u2019 \nconducted by Dr. Shruthi Ravikumar, Paediatrician from Shadow Clinics. \n\uf0ab \nOur Scouts & Guides attended a life skills training on First Responder, CPR \nand handling emergencies. This was organised by the Alert NGO. \n\uf0ab \nThese students also attended a 1 day camp at the NGP College campus, \nwhere Ms. Sudha, Advance flock leader from the Bharat Scout & Guide \nadministered the activities. \n\uf0ab \nStudents of class 2 & 3 attended a child safety awareness session \nconducted by Ms. Mandhagini from Yi Thalir. They learnt how to be cautious \nand conscious and how to act when in trouble. \n\uf0ab \nThe astronomy club students joyfully participated in their moon watching \nevent, exploring the outer space under the guidance of their club \ninstructors. \n\uf0ab \n4 of our students Nakshatra, Trishika, Samiksha and Harshika participated \nin a workshop titled Young Transformational Leaders at Chinmaya Gardens, \nSiruvani. \n\uf0ab \nIn the month of October, we had organised a Career Fair for the students \nof High School in which over 20 eminent universities from across the \ncountry participated. ","Educational trips, Field visits and Work education session \nTo put learning into perspective, to enhance social skills and to create life-long \nmemories, experiential learning is the key. \nOur students are exposed to abundance of such activities. \n\uf0ab \nThe LKG students visited the Gass Museum, \nthe UKG the Police Museum and the fire station, \nGrade 1 Post Office-Main Branch, \nGrade 2 the Exotic Bird park at Mettupalayam, \nGrade 3 - the Vellalore Butterfly Park, \nGrade 4- the Exotic Bird park at Mettupalayam, \nGrade 5 - Nilgiri Biosphere Nature Park, Anaikatti, \nGrade 6 - Sierra ODC Pvt Ltd, India's highest rated green building and \nKasthuri Srinivasa Art Gallery & Textile Museum, \nGrade 7 - GD Experimenta Science Museum, \nGrade 8 - KPR College of Technology\u2019s Robotics Lab & Drone centre. \n\uf0ab \nAs a part of the work education, Grades 3 & 4 visited the Vilfresh Cattle \nFarm, Vellamadai and the Milk unit at Manikarampalayam to experience the \nreal-world work environment at food processing\/farming units. \n\uf0ab \nThe grade 8 visisted ISRO\u2019s Space on Wheels Expo at Rathinam College \n\uf0ab \nGrade 11 & 12 attended a workshop on Design thinking and Creative arts at \nSasi Institute \n\uf0ab \nGrade 11 & 12 commerce students visited Aspire Textiles, Grade 12 \nstudents of Biology attended a training program on Bio-technology at GRD \nCollege \n\uf0ab \nOur Heritage club students visited the thousand-year old Avinashilingam \nTemple at Avinashi. At this temple believed to have been built by the \nCholas, our children had an enriching experience exploring the beauties of \nour rich culture and history. \n\uf0ab \nEnrolled students of grade 5 to 12 went on a 5-day trip to Trivandrum- \nKanyakumari and had great fun & togetherness. \nLearning was truly experiential when our students were engaged in the making \nof a mini vacuum cleaner and eco-friendly incense cones during their work \neducation sessions. ","Other exciting events of the learning journey\u2026 \n\uf0ab \nOur student leaders were inducted into the school parliament on 29 June \nth \nand from thereon, their robust contribution to all the school activities is a \nworth mention. \n\uf0ab \nIt was a dream come true on 6 July when we hosted the TEDx event. 6 of \nth \nour student speakers along with other eminent speakers from the outside \ncaptivated the audience through their inspiring talks. All of these 11 \nspeakers\u2019 talks went on air and that was a memorable occasion for us. \nWords are in suffice to applaud the effort and the confidence of our \nstudent speakers Shruthika, Rashmitha, Tejas & Hashini of grade 9, \nHarshitha of grade 8 and Aarshika of grade 7. \n\uf0ab \nThe School Annual Sports meet held in July, and the Sports for parents \nheld in August were some exciting events of the year. \n\uf0ab \nThe Book fair held in August, the project days held in January \u201924 and \ncoming up again in January \u201925, the Ganit-Vigyan expo held in November, an \nevent mentored by students and judged by students, all the CCA \ncompetitions organised across all classes, the UN activities aligning with the \nyear of Camelids this year, \nThe School Cinema \u2013 the Popcorn time where values were embedded through \nenriched screen time, Participation in the Kovai Marathon, all the within \nschool and after-school clubs that promote collaborative learning, also \nequipping them with additional skills, \nThe conduct of the annual health check up to ascertain the fitness of all, \nthe making of the school magazine the Quill, and the students\u2019 contributions \nto the same, the joy of giving activities that witnessed huge donations of \nclothes, stationery and provisions that were later distributed to various \norganisations like i) Families for children ii) St.Thomas Old Age Home, and \niii) Saranalayam; \nThe NGP Carnival, an annual Fest organised by the Commerce stream that is \nwitnessing larger and larger turnout year on year with special attractions \nadded each year, this year\u2019s special attraction being the Magic show by the \nfamous magician Master Kalaiarasan - all these and many many such small \nand big activities are all planned and conducted to make learning relevant, \nrewarding, enriching and holistic. ","\uf0ab \nWe are also glad to announce that after 2 years of partnership with the \nprestigious Allen Career Institute, we shall have the \u2018In-Campus Academic \nAssistance Programme\u2019 from the next academic year for the students of \nclass 8 and above. \nOur accomplishments for the year \n\uf0ab \nIn the tech expo held at PSG college in February this year, Deekshitha of \nclass 10 won the 3 prize for her project titled Vigil Her, a safety device \nrd \nfor women. \n\uf0ab \nDeekshitha has yet another feather on her cap. She was placed among the \ntop 100 in the Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge organised by CBSE. \n\uf0ab \nOur team from the Robotics club was adjudged the best performers at the \nCoimbatore Robotics League this February. \n\uf0ab \nVishnu Priya of class 12 won the 1 position in the Zonal level in Commerce \nst \nOlympiad organised by ICSI. \n\uf0ab \nIn the Board exam results this year, \n\uf0ab \nMore than 40% of our students scored above 90% in class 10, our top \nscorers are Prithika Vasini & Harshitha with 95%, Arjun & Shashwandth \nwith 94% and Sanjay & Samiksha with 93%. \n\uf0ab \nIn class 12, more than 35% of our students scored above 90%. Our top \nscorers were Abhinaya with 97%, Tharshini with 96%, Kamali & Udham \nKumar with 95%, and Atchaya Shree with 94%. \n\uf0ab \n6 of our students of batch 2024 have got admissions in the Medical \nColleges \u2013 Atchayashree & Kamali joined Coimbatore Medical College, Rohan \nRavikumar - PSG Medical College, Tharshini - JSS Medical College, Varsha - \nCochin Medical College and Avantika \u2013 KMCH Medical College \n\uf0ab \nGlad to mention that Shahrin Jahana of grade 12 was selected to serve as \nthe presiding officer at the IIMUN Conference in Tirupur. \n\uf0ab \nYazhini Athiyaman of class 5 won a consolation prize in All India painting \ncompetition by the Hindu Young World and received a cash prize of Rs. \n3,000. ","\uf0ab \nIn the district level IIMUN conference held in July, Havish of class 10 and \nArshika of Class 7 won High commendation awards, \n\uf0ab \nIn the Tamil Creative Writing Competition organised by Coimbatore \nSahodaya, Shruthika of class 9 won the first prize. \n\uf0ab \nKeerthana S of grade 8 won the third place and Amay of grade 5 won the \nfirst place in the Art competition organised by Coimbatore Sahodaya. \n\uf0ab \nIn an inter-school competition organised at PSBB school, Nakshatra and \nShree Lekha won 1 prize in Commerce Chronicle, Dharun Karthik & Tarun \nst \nKaarthic won 2 prize in the Stock market simulation trading. \nnd \n\uf0ab \nRashmitha of class 9 was selected as a panellist in a live streaming event \norganised by 1M1B in connection with International Youth Day. \n\uf0ab \nArshika of class 7 secured 4 place in the inter-school poetry writing \nth \ncompetition. \n\uf0ab \nOur students excelled in the ATL marathon, a national level innovation \nchallenge for school. 2 of our teams Pariddhi and Rohil of class 8, Sarvesh & \nHasini of grade 9 were among the top 200 out of over 20,000 teams across \nthe nation. These students are undergoing their trainings as part of their \ninternship program. \n\uf0ab \nIn this year\u2019s Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan organised by NCERT & Vigyan \nPrasar Sabha, our students Shakthi Karthikeyan of grade 6, Shruthika of \ngrade 9 and Havish of grade 10 are qualified for the state level camp to be \nheld at Karaikudi in January \u201925. \n\uf0ab \nMahant & Pariddhivelan of grade 8 won the 2 place in the inter-school quiz \nnd \ncompetition held at PSBB school. \n\uf0ab \nTejas of grade 9 won the 11 position among 604 students in the Python \nth \nAdvance Global Finals at the Global Hackathon. He was awarded a silver \nmedal for the same. \n\uf0ab \nIn the Aqua Regia, a quiz competition organised by Time Institute, Mithun \nand Sriram of grade 12 were the winners at the Zonal level and won a cash \naward of Rs. 6,000. ","\uf0ab \nIn the Universal Robotics League organised by CAD technology, Coimbatore, \nTheja & Sukirthi of grade 8 and Tejas & Sri Vishnu of grade 9 won the \nawards for Best innovation and calibration respectively. \n\uf0ab \nThrough the IIT Madras\u2019 School Connect Program that offers online \ncertificate courses in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, 20 of our \nstudents completed the course and were awarded certificate of completion. \n\uf0ab \nSindhizhai of grade 6 is continuing her winning streak in chess. She has won \na number of prizes at the State level tournaments this year too. \n\uf0ab \nCharuthakshan of grade 8 has been consistent in his triumphs at various \nzonal and state level swimming competitions. \n\uf0ab \nSriee Samrutha of grade 8 has also been remarkable at the swimming arena \nand has won several prizes and championship at the zonal and state level \nevents. \n\uf0ab \nWe have a young archer coming up in school \u2013 Ayanthika J Gopal of grade 5 \nwho won 1 place at the Archery competition at the SRP Cricket Stadium, \nst \nSalem. \nWhile we commend these achievements, we are equally aware that Excellence is \nnot about winning all battles, but about learning to identify one\u2019s strengths and \nenhancing it to the fullest potential. \nAnd that\u2019s what we as teachers strive to do at the NGP \u2013 awakening the \npotential of every child and help in thriving to the fullest. \nI leave you with this subtle yet a powerful message conveyed by our student \nSriram of grade 12. If we could get our students think and speak on such lofty \nthoughts as \u2018Mindfulness\u2019, then that\u2019s the indication that we as school are \nheading in the right direction. \nAs I leave the stage promising you all of continuing to offer richer and more \nrewarding experiences to our children, do listen in to Sriram\u2019s 3-minute talk \nthat will definitely leave an impact on all.
