Biography Tangela is the powerhouse behind two major brands, NaturalRootSista™ and PurposeKollection™, built on passion, determination, endurance and inspiration. This part of her journey is filled with joy and empowerment. After years of lifeless, damaged hair and struggling with being overweight, it was time for her to make a difference in her life. A woman of encouragement, obstacles did not stop her from walking inher purpose. Tangela was inspired to start NaturalRootSista™ after disappointing setbacks frombeing laid off from work and doors just not opening. Just like any stressful situation, she becamedepressed and ready to give up. She stayed on the Internet looking for inspirational andmotivational blogs determined to find hope in comforting her emptiness, and become theinspiring woman she once was to uplift her spirits. These blogs helped her realize she had abigger purpose, and the Lord had something greater in store for her.She started NaturalRootSista™ with a passion to inspire and encourage other women. Thisplatform allows women to express their boldness by showing off particular hair styles, fashion,beauty, and self-expression. She connects with womenall over the world reaching those that are spirituallybroken and experiencing a similar journey. Her motto is“if women dared to be bold and different” she wouldfeature them on NaturalRootSista™.During this time, she began to research ways to takebetter care of her temple. She createdPurposeKollection™ natural products for hair and skin. Inspired by her grandparents to be aleader and work hard, she found that going back to natural roots would result in loving andcreating natural products.She was raised in Jacksonville, FL, by her grandparents, very loving, godly and compassionatepeople, who gave to the world. Her grandmother believed in natural ingredients from foods,products and being healthy. She remembers every Saturday she had to do her chores with non-toxic cleaning supplies. Her grandmother would make her own cleaning products from almostanything around the house. Growing up as a teenager, she continued to research and

experiment and learned the importance of natural products to carry on these traditions into herown family.It was then during the time of her trials of having to deal with unemployment, weight gain, losinghair, and her son’s eczema; Tangela really began to experiment with natural ingredients. Shewasn’t comfortable with using the prescribed creams from the doctors, and continued toresearch the advantages of using natural ingredients. She would experiment and share the products with her family and friends for their feedback. Tangela spent countless hours in her kitchen mixing up the proper ingredients to cure the eczema. Once she started seeing amazing results from her very own experiments, she immediately gained confidence, started losing the extra weight, and had the support of her family and friends to move forward with manufacturing these new products.Creating PurposeKollection™ products has become her full time career. Tangela had no ideashe had this type of special gift, and she gives all praise to the Lord for allowing her to gothrough her trials and tribulations to walk in her purpose. When she is not blogging onNaturalRootSista™ or creating new PurposeKollection™ products, Tangela enjoys reading,cooking, and cleaning. Her biggest influences are women who strive to go after their dreams.These go-getters push themselves through tough times and stand on their own knowing theywill not be defeated.She currently hosts meetups at Whole Foods Market with a local group of women to sharebeauty, hair, and fashion tips, eating healthy, and so much more. She is also involved with 100Black Men charity events every year to help raise money for scholarship funding for high schoolgraduates. As a motivational speaker, she speaks with students at different colleges on ways tobring a business idea into existence.Tangela believes her journey is a true gift from God. NaturalRootSista™ has grown to become anationally known brand in the natural hair community.
