Memory Unit  Gather data or instruction that receive from Input Unit for sending to process in CPU and gather the result for ready to send to output unit. 4. Output Unit  show the result of information from computer is processed 5. Peripheral Equipment  Connects a computer to other things. It gives a computer system more features. (also called: input and output devices)

Dot matrix Produce characters and illustrations by striking pinsInk-jet against an ink ribbon to print closely spaced dots in the appropriate shape.LaserPhoto Printer Work by spraying ionized ink at a sheet of paper. Magnetized plates in the ink's path direct the ink onto the paper in the desired shapes. It use Ink Cartridges Utilize a laser beam to produce an image on a drum. The light of the laser alters the electrical charge on the drum wherever it hits. The drum is then rolled through a reservoir of toner, which is picked up by the charged portions of the drum. Finally, the toner is transferred to the paper through a combination of heat and pressure. This is also the way copy machines work. It use Toner Cartridges Printing photographs. A printing process that uses heat to transfer dye to a medium such as a plastic card, printer paper or poster paper.Dye-Sublimation Produce a printed image by selectively heating coatedPrinter thermo chromic paper, or thermal paper as it is commonly known, when the paper passes over the thermal print head.Thermal Printer The coating turns black in the areas where it is heated which then produce an image.

At a computer shopSeller : Good afternoon, sir. May I help you?Customer : I would like a mouse.Seller : What type of mouse would you like?Customer : Oh! I don’t know. Are there many types of mouse?Seller : Yes, sir. There are 3 types of mouse?Customer : Could you recommend me, please?Seller : Ah, this is mechanical mouse. This is optical mouse and this is wirelessCustomer mouse.Seller : Oh, I get. I have seen them.Customer : Good. Then, which mouse would you like, sir?Seller : I would like an optical mouse. How much is it?Customer : It’s 200 baht, sir. : Ok. Mechanical mouse A computer mouse in which the mechanical movements of an incorporated ball areconverted into cursor or pointer movements on the screen. Such a mouse has a ballunderneath that can roll in an direction along two planes, and its movements areconverted by sensors into the appropriate signals. An optical mouse utilizes light totrack mouse movements over a special grid. Optical mouse A computer mouse whose movements are converted into electrical signals viaoptical mean. For example, such a mouse may rest upon a reflective grid whichdetects the movements of a light situated under said mouse. Wireless Mouse A mouse that sends signals to the computer without a cord. Bluetooth mice arecommonly used with tablets, because most tablets have Bluetooth built in. At a computer shopCustomer : Hello James, Are you Available? I want to get a new laptop and I want you recommend me.Seller : Sure. How old is your current laptop?Customer : Oh I’m not sure. It maybe 2 years?Seller : Well, what model is it?Customer : (list some 5-year old mid-range model)Seller : Yeah, it's probably time to upgrade. What are your needs?Customer : I want that lightweight and easy to carry around.Seller : Well you could get these one. (list a couple of cheap netbooks).Customer : Yeah, I was looking at those, but I do a lot of stuff with photos, video, flash and whatever so, I think netbooks aren't powerful enough.Seller : Oh, you didn't say that when I asked about your needs. You need a more powerful ultraportable which it good processor and plenty of RAM and hard drive space.Customer : That's too much money. I was looking to spend just 15,000-20,000 baht.Seller : Well you didn't say that when I asked what your needs are. That's pretty tight. Can’t you spend more like 25,000 Baht?Customer : I don't really have an exact price, I just don't want to spend a lot of money.Seller : If you can spend not over 20,000 baht so, I’d recommend this one. It’s not a bad deal...it's got plenty of RAM and a decent processor. But it’s nearly 1.5 Kilogram. You said light and easy to carry... you want something closer to 1 Kilogram, or even less. You're going to have to make some compromises. But it has sort of a low-resolution screen. The screen upgrade option costs at least 4,000 baht.Customer : It's so ugly. If I don’t fix for the price so much but I would like to get as I specify. How much does it cost is the cheapest?Seller : All right. This model is the most properly with you.

Seller : Good morning, ma’am. How can I help you?Ms.Brown : Yes, I would like a laptop.Seller : What model would you like?Ms.Brown : I’m not specified it. But I would like lightweight and easy to carry, a lot of storage.Seller : Do you need an optical drive?Ms.Brown : What is an optical drive?Seller : A DVD drive. Do you frequently install software from disc, or mostly just download it?Ms.Brown : Ah, I want an optical drive. It comfortable to install.Seller : Do you want to watch DVD movies?Ms.Brown : Oh! Sure. I want to be able to do that.Seller : The computers with optical drives tend to be thicker and heavier than ones without. Really, when was the last time you watched video off a disc on your PC? Do you really need the optical drive? Could you make do with an external USB optical drive if some rare emergency comes up that you need to install something off a disc?Ms.Brown : I guess so.Seller : What about games? Do you play any games?Ms.Brown : Not really.Seller : So, You don't want the ability to play those? Okay, may I suggest you for this laptop. It is around 1 kilogram, looks great, has a good screen, really long battery life, has a decent enough graphics chip to play some basic 3D games, has enough CPU power and RAM to do all other stuff.Ms.Brown Really good. Okay, I get it.

The Names which are used to measure in storage The names which are used to measure in the beginning was the bit. A bit is 1 or0 Bits were put together to make bytesThere are exactly eight bits in a byte, and 1 byte = oneletter or punctuation markfor example: 01101000 = h and 01101000 01100101 01101100 01101100 01101111 = hello. One thousand letters makes a kilobyte, or approximately 125 words.one thousand kilobytes should make a megabyte, but in fact (because we are using base8 - remember 8 bits in a byte.) - 1024 kilobytes make a megabyte.a megabyte can hold as much text as a small paperback book.a gigabyte is one thousand megabytes. A 2 hour film can be stored on 4-6 gb.a terabyte is one thousand gigabytes, or 1,099,511,627,776 bytesThis is enough for almost everything, but some very large storage space is measuredin petabytes, or thousands of terabytes. Now let's jump to the top of the scale and look at a brontabyteor a little bit more than 10,000,00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes. This is enoughfor you to store a 150 word letter to your mother, and another to her friend, andanother to every person on the planet, with space left over for their pets.Adapted from http://www.english-online.org.uk/comp/comp19.htm
