CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE I am profusely glad to learn that our students have been able to come out with first edition of school NEWSLETTER and on this occasion, I congratulate all the students, teachers and the school administration who have been associated with this noble task. Schools are the medium through which the child is educated, groomed and prepared to face the world. By showcasing the creativity of young minds and providing vignettes of the atmosphere in which children are being groomed, Mr. Manish Vyas NEWSLETTER acts as a compendium which records the Chairman blooming of Indian youth. I am confident that, with the dedication of the school authorities and the support of the community in general, our pupils will continue to give of their best in all areas. I hope this NEWSLETTER will help blossom the hidden talents and creativity of our students. I am sure NEWSLETTER will be another milestone in the history of our beloved institution and I congratulate once more all the players in bringing reputation to our institution in all fields. Pro-Vice Chairman's Message It fills me with a sense of pride to belong to the DPS Pali Road family. The great heights that this prestigious and eminent institution has attained are the result of tireless efforts and contributions of our prominent DPS team. The school plays a very important role in a child‟s life and the teacher occupies a unique place. For every student the teacher Mrs. Asha Vyas is like a bank from which the student can confidently draw. Pro-Vice Chairman Therefore, it is incumbent upon a teacher to keep himself well equipped with new funds of progressive knowledge and ready information. Let us, teachers and parents together, help and nurture our children to grow up to be confident to face the challenges of the fast-moving world.
From the Principal’s Desk Dear Readers, In the ongoing process of learning textbooks and formal teaching within the four walls of the classroom have a significant role to play. However, for a complete, all-round, healthy growth of personality the child has also to move away from the textbook and step out of the classroom. Avenues have to be provided to the child at home and by the school for healthy intellectual, Ms. Niharika Chopra physical and emotional development. However, we have to Principal be judicious in providing these avenues. We must cater to the need and should not succumb to the demand. Education begins at the mother‟s knee. Every word spoken within the hearsay of the little child leads to the formation of his character. A great responsibility thus lies upon parents to ensure that a proper seed is sown in the formative years of a growing child which when nurtured with love and care will develop their child into a person strong in character. Each child has his/her God gifted talents. It is the duty of the elders, especially the teachers and parents to nurture the talent and help them to bring it out. Through our school NEWSLETTER we are providing them a chance to love „letters‟ and do magic in literature. The School NEWSLETTER is an attempt from our side to provide our students with an opportunity to exhibit their creativity and literary flair. Our young academic achievers, budding poets and writers are recognized through the columns of this NEWSLETTER. Let us hope that this maiden venture enlightens other students to think, imagine and transfer their ideas to creative writing. I congratulate the Editorial Team of NEWSLETTER for a job well done!

TAKING TINY BUT DETERMINED STEPS TOWARDS EXCELLENCE First half of the session 2022-23 is over and it is a time for celebration and reflection on what we have achieved and what we have to look forward to next! This has been another busy, positive and productive term here at DPS PALI ROAD JODHPUR, with the review of our teaching and learning policies, resulting in improved procedures and practices and another jam-packed programme of fantastic school wide events such as trip to Osian and Jaisalmer, Summer camp, curriculum information sessions, Independence Day Celebration, Diwali Celebration, Janmashtami Celebration and charity events - to name just a few! We have such a wonderful group of children to work with, supported by caring and close families. It has been a pleasure to see parents fully participating in school events and actively engaging in the children‟s exit points. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our admin and support staff, who do such a great job behind the scenes. We are indeed a „caring community, striving for excellence, where every individual matters.‟ Mentors of NUR to V
MARCHING TOWARDS A PROMISING FUTURE— WITH A NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE What does it mean to be engaged in learning? We believe that for a student to be engaged in learning, the task needs to allow them to be active and motivated. Children need to experiment, discuss and come up with ideas and conclusions. The Curriculum and the cross curricular links made with other subjects make room for engagement to happen. Activities, ICT lessons, hands on Science activities, Drama, Music, and Talk for Writing are good examples of how we invest in engaging children in learning. These activities allow our children to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in new situations. We want them to transform their learning, to be in charge of it. Our learning units, Activities, Educational tours, Summer Camp, Celebrations and Media Magic gave the children a great opportunity to learn through practice, movement, talk and creativity. The activities were so engaging that children could not help but enjoy them! Several events and Celebrations helped children to understand differences and to be creative. They learnt about expressing happiness in different ways through different celebrations, which have different symbols, with different but purposeful meanings. They made their own artifacts for the celebrations they learned about. It was a wonderful opportunity to develop their National Mindedness. We inspired the children to link their ICT skills with the knowledge they were acquiring about communication. They had a great time in showing their families what they had done and learnt in all the subjects of the curriculum, with a lot of expertise and self-confidence! Children growing in attitude, perseverance and having ownership of their learning, transformative learning, the type of learning that gives children the ability to move forward. Lifelong learning! Mentors of VI to VIII
WE STRIVE FOR THE BEST—FUTURE LEADERS IN THE MAKING. We have had a very fruitful first term with students settling back into the school routine well. We are all ready for another busy term full of rich learning experiences and enjoyable activities. This term our focus will be on refining our tuning in and reflection skills and ensuring students have a clear understanding of the learning intentions that will be targeted throughout each lesson. We are committed to providing a collaborative, challenging and supportive learning setting enabling children to achieve their potential. We ensure our provision will continue to be shaped by a deep understanding of the needs of our pupils. We know how vital working in partnerships with parents really is, in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. We strongly believe accomplishment and enjoyment go hand in hand to ensure each child‟s outstanding growth. Every child has different strengths and weaknesses and it is therefore very important that our school provides an environment where all children can thrive. Play boosts learning development in children and fuels their imagination. This area was designed to inspire our children to play, improving their physical development, imagination and social skills. The sense of discovery and fascination influences meaningful learning and allows for the development of an emotional connection towards the environment. Mentors of IX to XII
The Art of Reading “Art has a broadening effect because it presents a perspective on reality that challenges preconceived ideas and make children look at something from outside their comfort zone”. The library team decided to have Arts and Reading as the theme of the 2022 Book Week. Library had a range of lively activities that provided fun together with learning for children. The traditional activities like the Classroom Board Decoration Competition, Reading and Sharing Stories and a special storytelling session with loads of interaction and laughter. The children had a memorable activity with peers, connecting what we have been learning in the library to nice games on popular topics amongst children like, superheroes and detective stories. “Behind every work of Art there is an untold story”. Always remember reading is a rainbow of possibilities! - Library Team
Sa Re Ga Ma The music room ramped up to start writing and performing compositions in several events of school. With so many digital technology options available, it was fun to experiment for the students. Tools that made it easy to compose music, manipulate sounds, write notation, and collaborate together. For our students, technology is not a toy but a powerful enhancement to the music curriculum. They became very enthusiastic about the possibilities available to them and couldn‟t wait for the next opportunity to “play.” All the parents and guardians were very appreciative and grooving along with the children. The students in primary and seniors also prepared an Independence Day performance, Diwali Celebration, Baisakhi, and sang patriotic and festive songs. It was a very enjoyable and fulfilling experience for all students, audience and the faculty. In senior wing, students further honed their instrument skills and learned to sing many popular songs. Music Team
Sports is the best Physical Poetry The audience were treated to some entertainment in the form of an exceptional performance by the Basketball Team. It was great to see many of the boys go on to receive well-deserved awards during the evening. Our Sports Star Awards were the first to be handed out, where we celebrated students who had participated in a number of sports within school and played at District level or above outside school. Some of these students have represented the school in as many as different teams throughout the year: an impressive reflection of the variety of opportunities our students are able to take advantage of. Silent Noises Leaving an uninhabitable world Frivolous promises, fudgelling For the unborn victims And audacity to award a day Fat chance of any bench hearing To our external heart induce The unprecedented cry of justice. To amass what they‟ve not scattered. Compelling and Earthly desires Being oblivion to fore-elder‟s distrust compel Won‟t prevent the dreadful sight To reap what they‟ve not sown Remember, no appeal would reverse To be obligated to what Guilty verdict in the Divine court. They‟ve not scrounged. By Ms. Abhisweta
From the Editorial Team With the passage of time every civilization attains a new face, every culture gets a new look and every generation gears up for a new getup. In the wake of the onslaught of information technology the very concept of human is getting revolutionized. In this ever-shrinking world, newer horizons, infinite possibilities and unprecedented accomplishments are in the offing. These quantum leaps are not just altering the face of the globe, they are indeed intimidating. Past is systematically, buried in the name of coloured future and there is no retrospection even if giant leaps like human cloning, genome mapping, wonder drugs, artificial organ implants, space tourism, and the list being endless, may prove to be retrogressive and demeaning. Misguided optimism, unrealistic hopes might take a heavy toll of all that we are poised to claim. Perhaps, we are running amok blindfoldedly with no iota of genuine concern for humanity. Statistics betray the stark realities i.e., the earth lays bare, the human bereaved of ethical values degenerating to bestial standards, ignoring immutable laws of nature. Science and technology must be subservient to cater to the common masses as a means to an end and not the end itself. Let humans not be metamorphosed into metallic hunks bereft of conscience, compassion and concern. Moral bankruptcy, unscrupulousness, and misanthropes, demean our very existence and introspection might help reverse the process. Future might alter the scene with all its promises beckoning us with a clarion call. There seems to be a glimmer of hope radiating in our hemisphere. Youth power is manifesting itself in the spectacular growth of I.T. and preservation of the earth bringing India to the centre stage. It is only through enlightened developmental policies that we can resolve dilemmas of tradition versus modernity and antiquated versus futuristic. Let‟s muster all powers to redeem our pledges to humanity, our social commitments, to combat scourges like poverty, illiteracy, racial discrimination, subjugation of the under privileged specially women and children. Retrospecting ourselves, we realize that our institution with its mammoth youth force also faces formidable challenges ahead – challenges of how to get recognized, how to carve out a niche in this cut throat competitive world and how to gain a firm footing without getting lost in the milling crowd. DPS PALI ROAD shoulders the onerous task of catering to a heterogeneous community truly representing India‟s composite culture and we cannot shirk our responsibilities towards our brethren. Our unflinching faith in every single parent and
loyalty to our motherland would inspire us to fulfill our commitments and redeem our pledges. Jai Hind.
