What are E-Resources?The electronic resources are a reliable alternative source of information, statisticsand images to help you with your course.The collection of e-journals, e-books and onlinedatabases is easily accessed by logging onto the VLE, clicking on the Library+heading and selecting the Electronic Resources link. The Electronic Resourcespage is ordered alphabetically.More informationabout theresources….. Antiquity: Antiquity is an online journal. It is a quarterly review of World Archaeology. There is also a printed copy available to read in Library+. Access is currently only available within College, where you do not need to log in.Biz/Ed: A web-site for students andeducators in business studies,economics, accounting, leisure, sport& recreation and travel & tourism.Includes presentations and activities.External access is available withoutusername or password.

Childlink has been designed to give the most up to the minute, easily accessible information on Welfare, Education, Health, Lifestyle, Justice, Youth Affairs, Employment, and Benefit Issues. It will be useful for Child Care, Health & Social Care and Public Services students. External access is available. Click on ’via your institution’ then select Peterborough Regional College. Use your College username and password to log-in.Child Protection HubThis database holds UK-based legislation andinformation about children'shealth, education andwelfare. Only availablewithin College. Copac is a union catalogue. It provides access to the online catalogues of many major university research libraries and the National Libraries of the UK and Ireland, including the British Library. There is also access to specialist collections such as the National Art Library (V & A Museum). Only available within College.

Dawsonera: Full-text accessto a selection of e-books,covering a wide range ofsubjects. Search for keywordsand make notes as well ascreate your own bookshelf ofuseful e-books.External access is availableusing your College log-indetails. Digimap: Digimap for Colleges provides easy access to a range of up to date Ordnance Survey digital mapping for Great Britain. You can access detailed maps showing building outlines, street level maps, road atlas style maps and maps for outdoor activities. Complete coverage of GB allows you to create a map of anywhere showing all sorts of different detail. Maps can be enhanced with your own information by adding points, lines, text and images. Hairdressing Training The resource features thirteen classic haircuts to illustrate the NVQ material. Each haircut features a photographic step-by-step guide, a quick textual guide to the haircut and a few simple questions to test the user's understanding of the material. The lessons section of the site covers much of the theory behind the haircuts, whilst the products section looks at the equipment and hair care products that the student will need to know as part of their education. This is an ideal reference resource for students on the NVQ Level 2 course. VADS is the online resource for visualarts. It currently provides access to over100,000 images from art and designcollections held in universities, colleges,museums, libraries and archivesthroughout the UK. The imageresources are free and copyrightcleared for use in UK Higher andFurther Education and personalresearch. External access is available.No username or password required. VOGUE ARCHIVE contains the entire run of Vogue magazine (US edition) from 1892 to the present day.
