A YEAR IN REVIEW Summer This year was very different than most to say the least, but the Star Steppers, with the help of many, prevailed and found ways to make this year memorable. We started the year with an optional outdoor class lead by our wonderful officers. Soon after, we had our official \"virtual\" Stardom, which was full of scavenger hunts, trivia, technique, combos, and learning choreography. Coming together as a team, we tried to make these virtual times as normal as possible! The school year started with learning our football routines from each of our officers. After many weeks of sweat, hard work, and sore muscles, our first performance was upon us. Football season was a go!! With matching masks, safety precautions, and armed with our new stand routine flags, we were ready to perform for the energetic crowd. Friday night lights didn't see us coming! Though the officers didn't get our usual summer training, we were able to come together for a leadership retreat during the fall. This retreat had us enjoying multiple classes at Ballet Austin and plenty of late night games to bring us together as leaders. Finally, we ended with our traditional candle lighting. Nothing better than traditions!! Fall
Winter \"Oh the weather outside is frightful, and the holiday season was delightful!\" The most wonderful time of the year was here with company dances, Jingle Bells, and learning our first contest dance. Having our holiday show was such an amazing experience with the best team I could have asked for! With winter upon us, it was time to get ready for contest by learning our routines! The joy of learning from choreographers and showing off our amazing talent with our hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and jazz routines wrapping up the end of the year- 2020 ends with a bang! After 2 weeks off with our friends and family, we returned ready to prepare for contest season. The officers and our fellow soloists took the \"stage\" at Leander Winter Dance Classic. The Star Steppers officers and soloists took home many awards- such as best technique for officer jazz and many of our soloists were finalists or took first place! Way to go Kaitlin and Carmen! To continue with our memorable year, we were hit with our very first \"Snowvid\". I have never seen so much snow in Texas! But as we have with all other obstacles this year, we pushed through. Though our contest was cancelled, we were able to put all of our energy towards our big show- Phases! Spring
Dear Star Stepper, Guards, & Managers, As this year comes to a close, I want to bring you back to how far we have come. This year has been one big rollercoaster, but we got through it together and made this year a memorable one. This might be our last performance as the 20-21 team, but this group of friends, became a family and family is forever! STAR STEPPERS We finally made it... Its Spring Show! Yea!!! Despite the many challenges and all the unknows, you girly girls continued to show up everyday and give it your all. A huge thank you to each of you for your dedication and hard work in making this unconventional year as normal as possible. Although we haven't been able to do all our usually performances, that has not stopped you from holding on to the hope that this day would come.
