IT GETS BETTER PROJECT - JUNE 2018The It Gets Better Project is a nonprofit organization with a mission to uplift,empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youtharound the globe. Growing up isn’t easy, especially when you are trying toaffirm and assert your sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Compass Health Services has provided over 450 individuals with access to life-saving services through Ryan White funding. More than 6,400 hours of counseling have been provided to those living withHIV/AIDS and their families. Over 80% of our clients have achieved their health- care goals and maintain viral suppression rates that are among the highest in the state. YOUTH PROGRAMNow more than ever, we need to provide guidance and support to our LGBTQyouth.Your donations have allowed us to greatly expand our youth programming. More than 50 LGBTQ youth and allies attend weekly youth meetings.The Transgender Youth Program has expanded to provide weekly meetings and increased access to mental health services.Since the program’s inception in 1992, we have helped over 2,500 LGBTQ youth find a safe space where their lives are valued and supported.

YOU SAVE LIVES THE CENTERCompass is the only community center to offer a safe space where we provide direct services to the LGBTQ community and our allies in Palm Beach County. Compass is open 60 hours a week and volunteers from the community have provided over 10,000 hours of onsite services. 111,000+ condoms have been distributed in the last year to members of the community for free and more than 1,700 rapid HIV tests have been administered.The Compass staff and community members lead 20+ support groups that meet in the center every month. COMMUNITY IMPACTLast year, Compass continued to increase our reach and impact in the community.With over 1,100 attendees, the Pride Business Alliance is the largest LGBTQ networking group in PBC. Compass hosts the largest and most successful LGBTQ events in PBCincluding Palm Beach Pride and the Stonewall Ball. Nearly 40,000 people attended our events last year.We organized the Equality Rally, part of a global event, that took place in June.
