Behaviour Support Practitioners (Senior Therapists) The BSP is an integral part of the Aspire therapy team as their work directly influences the success of the child. You will be responsible for the provision of senior therapy services in the implementation of programs and behaviour intervention plans for children. As a BSP you will also be involved in the training and development of and or independent therapists to ensure the effective delivery of the program. This will involve overlapping with new therapists on each case until confident that the new therapist can work independently. BSPs are responsible for responding to parent enquiries and referring any concerns about the child’s program to the relevant Program Manager. You will be responsible for answering therapists’ questions and ensure consistency across programs by reading notes and data and liaising with the team and Program Manager to address specific concerns. You will need to implement changes made at team meetings, which includes adding new programs with specific instructions to the and/or independent therapy team about how each program should proceed. Key result areas  Provide regular top quality therapy in home, school and clinic settings to individual clients and assist with case management under the direction of the Program Manager  Act as a liaison between therapists (and independents) and the Program Manager  Assisting new families to set up the therapy environment prior to starting a program and ensure the environment is maintained during the course of therapy  Initiating newly designed programs and probing for existing skill sets with clients prior to formal teaching as per the direction of the Program Manager  Assist in presentations at training workshops as well as providing high quality parent training

 Reporting to the Program Manager on client progress and providing recommendations for changes to the program prior to team meetings  Assist in the preparation and implementation of Therapist assessments  Assist in the modification/review of current training presentations  Provide ‘on-the-job’ training to RBTs and/or independent therapists including therapist evaluation form. This includes evaluating therapists’ therapy skills and providing feedback to them based on their performance  Ensure families are meeting administrative program requirements i.e. scheduling hours of therapy, scheduling external meetings with (pre)schools and Program Manager, providing necessary materials  Administrative responsibilities including the checking and marking of therapy exams  Overlapping with less experienced therapists when they are starting a new program or joining an existing team to ensure that they are ready to work independently  Providing coverage where possible for other therapists who are unable to make their sessions Essential criteria  Bachelor of Psychology or other relevant degree  Successful completion of senior therapy training (internal applicants) and senior therapy exam. External applicants can attend Advanced Training (which includes shadow training, advanced verbal behaviour, play and socialisation)  2 years full time equivalent demonstrated experience as a therapist in Applied Behaviour Analysis  A minimum of 15 hours and maximum 38 hours availability per week  Demonstrated ability to implement skill based programs for a wide variety of abilities  Experience working with children and families with additional needs, particularly Autism, utilising a family centred approach  A demonstrated ability to work independently  A capacity to develop leadership skills  Working knowledge in the field of early intervention  Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative consultation with a multidisciplinary team  applyExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with families  Independence, enthusiasm and flexibility  Commitment to quality delivery of service  Own a car with a current drivers licence  Current First Aid certificate
