I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Gemstar Productions under the helm of Miss Xandria Ban for successfully organizing the Miss Sabah Tourism State Selection. Although this is Miss Xandria Ban’s first attempt in organizing pageant event, I must commend her determination, commitment and courage in taking up the challenge, and I believe tonight’s achievement is something we can all be proud of. Message from Xandria Ban Miss Malaysia Tourism 2015 Director of GemStar Productions Good evening, First of all, as the organising chairperson, i would like to thank each and everyone of you for your presence here tonight. I would also like to express my gratitude to all our sponsors for the belief, commitment and kind support, especially to Tan Sri Datuk David Chu, the Executive Chairman of Jesselton Group for being the Presenter for Miss Sabah Tourism 2022. This year marks my debut as the State Director and Organising Chairperson of this prestigious event. I could not have pulled this off, without the support of all whom i mentioned earlier. Most importantly , many thanks to my advisor and mentor, Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, the founder of Miss Tourism Pageant who crowned me as the Miss Malaysia Tourism title in 2015. Without him constantly giving me encouragement and guidance, i may not able to have made this prestigious event materialise. As you all know, Miss Sabah Tourism aims highly in promoting tourism, culture and friendship. I hope the Top 12 finalists will be able to bring along with cultivate the spirit of friendship and camaraderie among them throughout the pageant week. All the ladies have had gone through training on public speaking (poise, posture & presence), facts about Sabah Tourism, catwalk & body posture, skincare and basic grooming. I have no doubt that with all this invaluable knowledge and training, they have gained the confidence and ability to represent Sabah and become the spokeperson of Sabah tourism. The Miss Sabah Tourism pageant is different from other pageants as they are required to be more active in their social media posts and live links on Sabah Tourism in terms of food, culture, festivals, tourism spots as well as their journey in the pageant. Therefore, i hope Miss Sabah Tourism will be a platform to generate the awareness while promoting the beauty of the land below the wind because i always that doing something simple, where that something comes from ourselves is not impossible, right! To all my top 12 finalists, i hope this knowledge and experience that you gain would be the most unforgettable moments in your life. I’m proud of all of you and it doesn’t matter who will win tonight, because in my heart, all of you are winners. Message from YB Datuk Jafry Hj Ariffin . State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment ITourism has long been one of the main contributors to Malaysia’s economy. The pandemic has disrupted the Tourism- Industry and tourism related products for the last two-and-a- half years. While the nation is in the endemic stage, it is timely and apt for the tourism industry players to help grow their businesses exponentially by coming up with interesting yet sustainable programmes and promotions. I am glad to note that D’Touch International Sdn Bhd is one such entity which has been consistently and vigorously promoting tourism, both locally and internationally, through its pageants. A point in case is the Miss Sabah Tourism, which not only complements the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in boosting domestic and international tourism, but it also a platform to promote culture, friendship and understanding among the participating states.
