CONDUGO’S PILOT PROJECT ENABLING (PETRO)CHEMICAL COMPANIES TO MEET THEIR CLIMATE & ENERGY TARGETS
UNPRECEDENTED INSIGHT IN ENERGY & PROCESS FLOWS WILL PUT YOU ONE STEP AHEAD OF COMPETITION IN THE ENERGY TRANSITION In 2020, Condugo submitted a project proposal to the European Commission. After a very strict selection process, the proposal was awarded a Seal of Excellence for its innovative and socially relevant character. VLAIO decided to respond to this, and to grant support for two years. With the pilot project, Condugo wants to enable (petro)chemical companies to meet the climate and energy targets in a lasting, convincing and economically responsible manner. The partnership with an innovative company like Borealis is a first important step. We want to build on it, but our ambitions go further. \"We are looking for additional partners to act as pilot sites for the next two years.\" “XAVIER DE MOOR - CEO Condugo \"We have the key to open the energy black box that a chemical plant often is and invite other chemical companies to participate. At the end of this project, we will have a tool that provides unprecedented insights in energy flows of all kind.” “THIBAUD VAN LINDT - Energy manager BE/NL Borealis \"We have been working on the sustainability and emissions of our plants for years. You can see the result in the continuous improvements. In order to maintain these, we now need to get a much more detailed grip on our energy flows. Condugo’s pilot project offers us that opportunity, which is why we are happy to be a pilot site.\" “BERT STASSEN - Project advisor VLAIO \"Condugo is not unfamiliar to us. The past years, we have seen the company grow and expand. We see this project as the final step before being ready to penetrate the chemical industry – the biggest in Belgium, thus fully convincing us of giving the necessary support.\"

CONDUGO HAS VALIDATED ITS SOLUTION WITHIN THE PHARMACEUTICAL SECTOR Condugo’s proprietary platform – the Energy Hub – is working at the sites of some of the largest pharmaceutical companies. This cloud-based tool allows them to create 100% transparency across their whole process chain – with Condugo’s guidance and expertise on their side. Say goodbye to assumptions, overcomplicated spread- sheets and tedious analysis. With our powerful and unique energy flow modelling tool, we create a digital energy twin of your energy flows, incorporating any energy conversion and commodity type, regardless of the complexity of their site. This model allows for real- time follow up on the (in)efficiency of your processes, giving you unprecedented insights and allowing you to take action rapidly and accurately. A climate transition roadmap with accurate internal energy cost allocations, suggested actions, executive carbon footprint reporting and sustainability metrics allows you to build strategies to reduce your energy usage and subsequent carbon impact.
EXTENDING OUR MODELLING TECHNIQUES COPE WITH THE CHALLENGES OF THE (PETRO)CHEMICAL INDUSTRY EXPANDING THE FUNCTIONALITIES OF THE ENERGY HUB TO: 1 capture the complexity of the (petro)chemical industry and deal with energy flows like loopbacks, product flows with energy content, mixed streams and energy exchanges across plants 2 increase the efficiency of the reporting process with the automatic generation of energy and climate reports. 3 determines the most interesting sustainable investment technology.
