Elmer died in 1974.Adele followed him 23 years later. But to this day, Elmer and Adele are still giving the gift of a Concordia education every year.Elmer Hinze was known as a “jack of all trades.” There was nothing he wasn’t willing to take on. He taught in Lutheranschools for 46 years. Played the organ at church every Sunday. He directed the choir, led Bible studies, and even sweptfloors when necessary. To say he inspired countless students would be an understatement. And he had an amazingpartner supporting his efforts every step of the way in his wife, Adele.Together, Elmer and Adele instilled in their daughters, Audrey and Corrine, a love for the importance of education andservice to others. After their passing, their daughter Corrine and her husband, Myron Molnau, wanted to create a lastingtribute to their lifes’ work. They decided to invest part of the Hinze’s estate in a scholarship endowmentfund to benefit Concordia University students studying to become Lutheran teachers. What is your passion? Create your own legacy of giving and inspire others. If you would like to contribute to the Elmer & Adele Hinze Scholarship Endowmentor establish one of your own, call Erinn DeGroot at 1-800-752-4736 or [email protected].
