Thank You, MUMC Trustees and Wednesday Morning Crew!!All year long our MUMC faithful trustees and Wednesday morning crew work tomaintain our church, education wing and parsonage. The trustees are charged withthe responsibility of caring for Moscow UMC’s financial assets, our 150 year oldparsonage, 94 year old Sanctuary and social hall, 25 year old education wing, 2parking lots and grounds. Donations made through your pledging and envelopeofferings marked “maintenance” help fund their year-round vital work in caring forbuildings, grounds, insurance and equipment. Capital Improvement donations helpfund larger projects like the recent parsonage garage floor replacement, shownbelow.October 2018 Trustees Basic Responsibilities -Oversee, maintain, supervise all local church property -Report annually to the charge conference on the state of the church’s property, equipment, investments and resources -Receive and administer gifts and make sure trust funds are invested properly -Keep articles of incorporation up to date -Along with the pastor, be responsible for all use of the church, buildings and grounds -Keep the finance team alerted as to budget needs for insurance, property maintenance and improvement -Report and be accountable to the charge conference and the church councilEveryday maintenance at Moscow UMCis performed by a dedicated group of volunteers who meet each Wednesdaymorning to clean and care for the church buildings and grounds. They are alwayslooking for new recruits to join with them in service to our church, and fun and
friendship. Volunteers take turns bringing in delicious desserts to share. It is amazingto see the amount of work these dedicated folks do in service to our church!Because of them our church is well maintained and looks great. In this way we giveglory to God and safely and graciously welcome our congregation and communityin to worship and grow in God’s Spirit! MUMC Sunday School News:Now that the fall Sunday sports schedule is winding down, we wantedEVERYONE to know about some of the wonderful things happening atMUMC's Sunday school for all ages, 9:30 am every Sunday. Preschool through middle school children meet in the Sanctuaryeach Sunday at 9:30 am for a musical, prayerful opening. Then theyrotate through games, cooking, art and spiritual formation classes,learning Important Bible and life lessons in this fun and multipleintelligence format. Right now, these grades are exploring the Biblicalstories of David and Goliath. Later they will explore the Christmas storyand present a Christmas pageant in worship on Sunday, Dec. 9, 11 am. Making twice-baked potato boats at MUMC’s Christian Kitchen Learning about Jonah and the Big Fish Our Jr/Sr High class is exploring Christian mission throughScripture, internet research in the cyber-lounge, and helping ourcongregation pack-up cleaning and hygiene kits for those in needfollowing recent hurricanes and storms. Our adult Sunday school class is exploring a video study of Moses,the reluctant prophet, in the book of Exodus. Following that they willexamine and enjoy learning Advent and Christmas spiritual themesviewing the film, The Bishop's Wife. We're thankful for all our wonderful teachers, volunteers andstudents!
