WELCOME FROM THE MD Phil Clay Firstly, I would like to start by saying Happy New Year, I wish Managing Director you all the best for 2023. 2 During this last year, Chapelhouse have taken huge strides forward by supporting staff more than ever. I believe that a strong team is a supported team and I feel working together and supporting each other we will continue to grow and thrive in 2023. We had a good financial year in 2022, even with the challenges faced by the aftermath of Covid and I am sure we will push forward in the upcoming year to ensure we build on the success of last year. I am absolutely delighted and honoured to take on the role as Managing Director, and I want to take the opportunity to thank the team at Chapelhouse for your ongoing support, hard work and commitment. As we move into 2023, we will face many ongoing challenges, but we will continue to move the business forward and of course, put the customer at the heart of everything we do. 2023 is going to bring lots of external challenges as we continue to battle the aftermath of Covid, rising interest rates and cost of living increases, however, Chapelhouse will be striving to make more improvements to staff benefits to support you all in these difficult times and reward you all for your hard work and loyalty. COLLEAGUE RECOGNITION AWARDS DEC‘22 We are delighted to announce that the Tony & Tommy Chapelhouse Colleague Recognition Award Tommy receives his award for November has gone to Tommy Clark. Tommy is a Sales Executive at the Wigan MG dealership. Tommy has been recognised for his excellent customer service, following a LinkedIn post heaping praise on him from one of his MG customers. Phil Clay was on hand to present Tommy with his award, along with a bottle of fizz, and thanked him for his effort on behalf of the Board of Directors. Phil said... Tommy is a popular member of the Sales team here at Wigan MG. It’s great that he takes the extra time to deliver for his customers. He’s a valued part of the Chapelhouse family. Tommy went above and beyond for his customer Tony, who had suffered an unfortunate breakdown. With Tony needing a courtesy car, and his breakdown recovery unable to reach him before the Chapelhouse closing hours, Tommy took it upon himself to stay after closing time at the Queen Street branch so that Tony’s issue could be resolved. Tony was enormously grateful to Tommy and went out of his way to praise his efforts online. On receiving his award, Tommy said: It’s belting! I was shocked when I was told I’d won, but I always knew it was gonna come really!! It almost felt as good as when Spurs beat Arsenal! Once again, congratulations to Tommy from everyone at Chapelhouse and we hope his customer- focussed attitude will inspire others to get that extra mile. HR UPDATE Nicola O’Nions Holiday entitlement Head of HR A reminder to all staff that the new annual leave period is now in place, running from 1st January to 31st December 2023. Here is a 4 breakdown of holiday entitlements depending on your length of time spent with Chapelhouse: New starters – 23 days One year complete – 25 days Five years complete – 26 days All non-sales employees will receive any bank holidays with the holiday year in addition to their holiday entitlement as detailed above. A holiday booking form must be completed one month prior to the date of your holiday if it is longer than one week. One week’s notice must be given for a single day booked off. Please speak to your line manager if you don’t yet have access to a holiday form. All holidays must be used within this period and cannot be carried over to 2024. CHAPELHOUSE CHRISTMAS PARTY December saw the Chapelhouse Craig Baker Christmas party take place at Kilhey Above and Beyond Award Court in Lancashire. The night was a roaring success with colleagues from all eleven Chapelhouse branches coming together to kick back and celebrate at the end of a challenging, yet ultimately successful year for the business. Prizes were presented and special thank yous were given from the Directors to recognise those members of staff who went that extra mile throughout 2022 and helped drive the business forward into 2023. CHAPELHOUSE MG NAMED THE MOST IMPROVED DEALER OF THE YEAR Chapelhouse MG was named the Most Improved Dealer of the Year for 2022 at the recent MG Motor UK Dealer Awards. Winning the award and being named Most Improved Dealer is a huge achievement for Chapelhouse MG. Phil Clay said: “I’m proud of our MG Team and what they’ve achieved. It’s fantastic to work with a company like MG that aligns so well with our vision for Chapelhouse and its future. We’re looking forward to what’s ahead for both of us” The MG brand joined the Chapelhouse Group in 2019, with four dealerships across the North West in Southport, St Helens, Wigan and Bolton.
