My Story: How I left A Job That I Hated And Ended Up Making More Than Twice As Much! It certainly wasn’t easy leaving my job where I had a base salary and nice bene ts. I had been making around a $100,000 a year as a contract uniform salesman and was one of the best in the country for the prior 3 years. Unfortunately for me, even though I was making great money I wasn’t happy. I was working in a corporate environment that killed creativity. Thinking outside the box was punished not celebrated.
