The Eiffel Tower is the symbol of Paris, if not of the whole country. It is one of the most famous monuments in the world and certainly one of the most photographed. It was built by the engineer Gustave Eiffel from 1887 to 1889 for the International Exhibition in Paris. It was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. The tower is 310 meters tall and was the tallest building in the world for many years after its construction. The Louvre is the largest museum in the world with an extremely impressive art collection. It is located along the Seine in Paris, France. The Louvre was originally built as a fortress, then rebuilt as a royal palace. When Louis XIV transferred the royal residence to Versailles, the Louvre became an art museum. The Louvre includes Egyptian antiquities, crown jewels, Greek and Roman sculptures, as well as other noble French artifacts. It houses more than 35,000 works of art at any one time. To conclude, I would like to say that France is a very big and more beautiful city and tourists must visit this place more often.
