Grant&agreement&No.&2014111IT021KA2041004132& !!The purpose of the Social Start Ups Project is to support Ethical Purchasing Groups inCroatia, France and Italy to start up social enterprises that empower and enable the enhancedsocial, economic, and environmental impact and effectiveness of the local communities.EPGs in Croatia, France and Italy, aim to enhance the agri-food localities through organizinglocal agri-food production communities into EPGs. In doing so, the EPGs empower localproducers and consumers through the adoption of ethical production processes, fair pricing,improved health through quality ‘slow food’ products, and a strong awareness of the naturalcycle and the need for environmental protection. However, these EPGs continue to face anumber of challenges that hamper their growth and impact. As a result, the Social Start Upsprogramme curriculum has been designed to include training content and sessions as shownbelow, to address these challenges and to enhance the effectiveness of the EPGs. Assigned,trained mentors who are familiar with this model and content, will lead the 7 training sessionswith the members of the EPGs. Each training session is designed as a half a working day,extending over 4 hours.Session Training Content Activity to complete Session before next session Defining Social Start Ups1 Starting Out Ideation (Brainstorming) Finalize ideas Week 1 Roles and Responsibilities Finalize roles and responsibilities2 Social Start Up Structures, Roles and Market research: customer development, SWOT , Structure Responsibilities Week 2 Communication, Negotiation and PESTLE etc Consultative Decision Making within the Social Start Up3 Marketing Vision, mission, values Setting up social media Planning and Branding channels. E.g., Facebook, Implementation Logo, marketing materials, website Week 4 marketing campaigns and social Developing the marketing media materials discussed in the session4 Sales, Finance Finance sources and opportunities Finalizing the marketing and Pricing (fund raising), membership fees and materials Week 8 other finance channels Researching funding Finance tools: cashflow, breakeven sources analysis, profit and loss account Experimenting with Pricing strategies financial and pricing scenarios and determining the most suitable for the Social Start Up ii!!
