Q&A Brooke Shields on Why She Loves Getting Older Brooke Shields became an icon of youthful beauty in her early teens, and now, at 57, she has a message about getting older: Aging itself is a beautiful thing. The supermodel, actress, author, business owner, and mom of two sat down with Prevention to share her philosophy. How do you see aging these days? When you look at aging as something that you’re fighting, already you’re initiating the relationship to it with, I think, the wrong perspective. I don’t look like I did in my 20s, but I don’t want to be in my 20s! I’m not saying to just forget about aging, but to custom-make your day to embrace it. WELLNESS T he things many of us take for granted when we’re young—having sharp vision, bouncing back from illness, being able to skip down the block—don’t have to fade away entirely (even if you’d rather walk than skip!).
