6A Class Magazine 2021-2022

ClassTeacher’s note Your children are not your children, they are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you, but not from you. And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you. Give them your love but never your thoughts, for they have their own thoughts! Khalil Gibran As my students stream ahead to take the next leap of their academic year, I feel overwhelmed with ecstasy and pride to watch them in action envisioning the future, rethinking their skill sets, and reaching for what is right! May the spark in your mind be the changing force to know your higher self, igniting your power to shift thinking for the better, and mobilizing your skills for the benefit of a better world! It’s my proud privilege to pen down the message for “MIND SPARK”, the E- class magazine of 6A. Hearty congratulations to all children for their excellent efforts and kudos to Aanya for the cover page, Joel & Yathi for the compilation. Binu Krishna

THE LITTLE CREATURE I am a tiny little creature I have white strips and I am brown I am calm and not a harmful creature But everyone thinks things that I am ugly and scary I always feel lonely There is no one I can play with I live under a bamboo tree under the hot dry leaves hiding from people Sometimes I feel hot and I want to get out of the leaves I want to breathe fresh air and enjoy nature But whatever happens, someone will see me and scream and run I want to go into the real world But I don't want to scare anyone I wish I was cute and I was petted by someone I wish I had cute white color I wish one day I had a real-life like a real animal And I had friends to play with And a home I love BY YATHI YESUDAS SUKU

Pancakes are an American classic but for me, it’s my favourite breakfast. Every Saturday, I always ask my Amma to make pancakes. My sister and I make an equal distribution of the pancakes so we do not fight about it. That’s how much we love these pancakes. Do try out my special recipe and let me know if you liked them as much as I do.

Recipe For My Favourite Pancakes Joshua Thomas Pancakes are an American classic but for me, it’s my favourite breakfast. Every Saturday, I always ask my Amma to make pancakes. My sister and I make an equal distribution of the pancakes so we do not fight about it. That’s how much we love these pancakes. Do try out my special recipe and let me know if you liked them as much as I do. You will need: 1½ cups flour 2 eggs (separate egg white and yolk) 3 tbsp sugar ½ tsp baking powder Pinch of salt 1½ cups milk Oil/ Melted Butter 1 tbsp 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Method: In a large bowl add flour, salt, sugar and baking powder and give it a good mix. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients. Separate the egg white and yolks, add the egg yolk into the flour mixture. Add the oil, milk to the flour mixture and mix until combined. Beat egg whites in a separate bowl till stiff peaks form. Fold in the stiff egg whites into the batter slowly, and fold slowly. Heat the pan, ladle some batter onto the pan. Wait for bubbles to form on the surface of your pancake then flip it over. Turn it to high flame wait for about 2 minutes then your first pancake is ready. Continue the process, then you will have enough pancakes for your empty stomach. Enjoy your pancakes with a knob of butter and a drizzle of honey. Yum scrum!

My Travelogue - Visit to Delhi,The Capitalcity My father, mother, and little sister planned a trip across Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, marked as ‘Golden Triangle’. We started our trip from Delhi, then moved to Agra and finally to Jaipur. The whole trip was scheduled for 8 Nights & 9 Days. A major part of this trip was focused in Delhi, the capital city of our country. I have highlighted my travel experience in Delhi in this travelogue. Day – 1 We reached Delhi at around 1pm and were received at the airport by our relatives. We went to the restaurant, Pind Ballochi, a traditional Punjabi style restaurant and had very tasty Punjabi thali. From there, we headed straight to the hotel where we had pre-booked the room. Maiden Hotel, appeared to be a heritage style hotel with over 100+ year history and well maintained staff and service. We then visited India Gate. From there, we headed straight to Rashtrapati Bhavan. The cab was stopped by guards at the entrance of the road to Rashtrapati Bhavan. We had to travel by foot. On our walk back, I grabbed the opportunity to thank a few defence personnel on duty for the marvellous and relentless service offered. After that, we went to the Lakshmi Narayan Temple/Birla Mandir. I got a chance to understand the architecture of the temple and the difference in the mode of prayer as compared to my hometown.

My Travelogue - Golden Triangle Visit Day – 2 We paid a visit to the death memorials of our important leaders. We visited Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The place was calm and serene . We also visited the memorials of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Jagjivan Ram. Our second place in the list for the day was Red Fort. We were amazed by the architectural marvel of this building and explored the fort in detail. Day – 3: . After finishing our breakfast from the hotel, we started our journey to Qutub Minar. It is a magnificent structure built in the early 12th century that is still intact. Our next visit was to Humayun's Tomb. This is one of the best-preserved Mughal monuments and is said to have inspired the construction of the famous Taj Mahal. Being Sunday, we visited the Sunday Market, Akshardham Temple. The temple is close to the border with Noida and the experience was totally spiritual. From there we went to our relatives' home. It was great meeting my grandma's sister and family. Day – 4: We visited the Lotus Temple. This is a Baha’i House of Worship and is famous for its flowerlike shape. The temple includes 27 marble covered petals arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides. This concluded our trip in Delhi and we booked a dedicated cab for the rest of our trip to Agra & Jaipur.
