What is ICE Independent Community of ICE (Independent Community of English) is an English association of English Students of Jambi University. Started in 2004, ICE becoming the place for the students to do some activities in relation with their status as a big part of English Study Program in Jambi University. This magazine is dedicated to document ICE’s programs in 2018 to 2019. 1
ICE AGE A Great Generation Every single year of management, ICE has their own slogan. This time, for the 2018-2019 period, we have ICE AGE leads the way. It stands for ICE : A Great Generation. ICE AGE consists of English students year 2016 and 2017 with of course a monitoring from the previous management, ICE IOS. 2

Welcoming New English Students year 2018 Every year, English Study Program recruits around 100 new students. For those who are succeed have to do the registration before actually taking the classes. Here is ICE guiding and giving them some information they have to know 12

Welcome Party Giving the new students only information is not enough. ICE has its own way to welcome the new members of the family, it is called Welcome Party. This event is conducted every year in order to make new students know more about their lecturers and seniors in the campus. 15

Welcome Party ICE 2018 was conducted on September 15th to 16th. The first day was an indoor activity where the new students had a chance to meet the chief of English Study Program and some of the lecturers. The second day was the fun part. This one was an outdoor activity. Students were divided into some groups which names were taken from the big theme of the party, The Greatest ICE Team In Wonderland. ICE asked each group to perform on the stage, they had to sing mars ICE, do a fashion show, and play some challenging game. Some students who were lucky enough to win the games got some reward from ICE. It really was a party. 17

Behind The Greatest Show 20
FKIP UNJA celebrate its birthday every year by conducting some activity for the students. Each students’ association had a responsibility to run a particular competition for the whole FKIP students. The main activity was in the weekend when there was a carnival that day. 21
We had our own stand that day. We sold some food, skin care, and some pieces of cloths. It was so much fun. This year, ICE has an opportunity to handle the speech competition for FKIP students. Not only hosting the speech contest. There were also so many English students tried to challenge themselves in other competitions such as traditional dancing, stand up comedy, vocal group and etc. 22

Leadership Workshop 25
Leadership workshop 26 was conducted on March 9th, 2019. The purpose of this activity is to train the next generation of ICE to get used to organizational works. There were three parts of this activity. First, the 2018 students had to go through an interview with the ICE AGE members. They were asked about which division they reflect themselves into. The second part was the workshop. The students get to know more about ICE and learn more about taking part in an organization. The last one was an outdoor activity. There were some games for them to improve their team work skills.
Public Speaking & 27 Entrepreneurship Seminar
ICE DAY 2019 ICE DAY is a celebration of ICE’s birthday. We opened the event by conducting a public speaking and entrepreneurship seminar on April 10th, 2019. 28

The euphoria continuous on April 28th, 2019. There were debate competition, poetry, story telling for UNJA students, and vocal solo for public. Each class was also required to open their own stands and sell things. So many students even the alumni were join in. This event was a great success. 31

For another Ramadan of the year. ICE UNJA was again, tighten up their bond by break fasting together. This was on May 18th, 2019. Not every body could make it but there were still a lot of ICE AGE & ICE IOS. 33
One day with English is one of the work programs of PSDM. There will be a certain day of the week when English students are not allowed to speak other languages but English in UPT. They are also suggested to use ICE uniform for the day. This is so unique and challenging at the same time. It’s One Day with English! 34
Ice Cream ICE CREAM stands for ICE Creative Team. We work in everything that is related to creativity, but of course in ICE. This team is a platform for you to go deep into your imagination and turn in into a reality. So, are you sure that you don’t want to join us? 35
ICE CREAM was originally formed in 2016, but started to be activated in 2017 until now on. The things we do are around cinematography and design world. This year, we launch another piece of art and it’s this NICEPAPER. 36
