“Happy students make better learners” When we have more kindness we will definitely have more smiles!! KG planned and celebrated as SMILE WEEK in the school. The central idea was “To make a positive environment by just passing a smile”. KG students were actively involved in the various activities planned by teachers. Little Goenkans made smiley faces and coloured them. The day started with a special assembly in which students held placards of smiling faces and made one and all understand the importance of a genuine smile. This was a day for everyone to share the power of smiles. The beautiful day ended with the children carrying home the smiley badges as take away gifts.

“Creating a Bond of Love” Rakhi Making Activity-was organized in school to make the students learn craftwork as well as understand the sacred bond between brothers & sisters. They learnt to make beautiful & colourful rakhies. Raksha Bandhan is a festival which celebrates the love & affection between brothers & sisters. KG students tied the knot of affection on the wrists of the security guards of the school. The event definitely brought smiles on the faces of the students as well as the guards who seemed quite content with the way the festival was celebrated in the school. Raksha Bandhan Celebration

The children of Kindergarten celebrated the 73rdIndian Independence day with great fervor & joy on 14th Aug, 2018. Excited and charged with positive energy, they mounted the steps of the assembly hall where they quizzed on the timeline of Indian history. They came dressed as different characters, in costumes and colours resembling our national flag. The effort put in by the children & teachers was reflected by the pictures of the event. They even enacted the role of national leaders and then danced together, shoulder to shoulder. It was a rich learning experience for children who cherished the value of freedom & patriotism.

In order to celebrate the birth JANMASHTHAMI anniversary of LordKrishna, a CELEBRATION celebration was organized in our school assembly hall for children. Boys of KG came dressed as “Little Krishna” and Girls came dressed up as “Little Radha”. To make the event more attractive and enjoyable, aesthetic decoration filled up every little corner of our school premises. Students of KG performed a dance on the tunes of Krishna Radha Song. They also presented a skit based on the birth of Lord Krishna. With their laudable performance they lit up the stage & mesmerized the audience.

What’s Happening In the Classroom ? In GDGPS students are engaged in active & deep learning and are not passively taking in information from instructions. They are trained to identify, think, analyse, write, read etc. To make each student an active player in the learning process, an environment must be created in which there are opportunities for students to do tasks. Here teachers emphasize on teaching through activities in which the students participate rigorously& bring about effective learning experience. Teachers use all available resources to conduct exploratory, constructive & expressional activities. Apart from the activities the school encourages linking the lessons with other subjects of the curriculum to ensure a holistic knowledge base for the student on that topic. Moreover, students are inspired to come up with their own innovation and in the process, their self-confidence gets boosted.

Allowing time for free play is an essential part of the development of a child’s physical, mental and social growth. It helps to build a child’s imagination & creativity, as well as problem solving skills. It is important for building development skills in children. It helps in developing gross motor skills and help them learn to think independently. FREE PLAY
