Road Safety Day was observed in GDGPS Purnea to focus attention on the importance of observing traffic rules in order to prevent accidents on roads which take away thousands of precious lives every year across India. KG department organized it in the open ground with a model of a four way road track with some vehicle models and all the students were given a chance to know how to follow the traffic rules and it helped to create awareness about road safety through all that. FITNESS DAY Fitness is a core part of our curriculum @ GDGPS Purnea. We focus not only on cultivating healthy minds but also healthy bodies through the continual development of large motor skills in fun unique ways. KG department also celebrated Fitness Day so that students learn the importance of why we need to be fit? And what should we eat also to stay fit? And What all we can do to have a healthy body?.

Carol Singing Week Carol singing announces & spreads the joy of the birth of our lord Jesus Christ. It is a musical & interesting ritual followed by all the persons celebrating Christmas. The idea is to create an ambience for the upcoming Christmas celebrations. All the songs sung are praising the lord & welcoming the birth of Jesus Christ. KG students participated very enthusiastically in Carol Singing Week commenced from 17 december on the eve of Christmas & rejoiced in the name of Lord.

FUN CITY KG DOLL HOUSE On 21st of December 2018 we organized a programme “Fun City” , a celebration which was a merger of Christmas and New Year. This was an edutainment programmed which was for entertainment and holistic development of our students. In this program we have engaged all the students in different theater activity and interesting experiments. With the Motto our Principal ma’am envisages for the kids “NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND” every child participated at least in one activity. Parents were delighted to see their kids getting an opportunityto show case their potential in different activities starting from KG students to our middle school kids. KG DOLL HOUSE was organized by Nursery & KG classes. Students of these classes were in attire of different classic characters like Raphunzel, Barbie doll etc. The children were dressed up like these famous characters and they portrayed costumes as they appear in the books. The place of performance was decorated beautifully in order to make the scene live while our little Goenkans played these characters as if they were real. They danced and enacted the doll house characters in a very lively manner. The show seemed as if real dolls appeared live on stage.



Whats happening in the classroom In GDGPS students are engaged in active &deep learning and are not passively taking in information from instructions. They are identifying, thinking, writing, reading etc. To make each student an active player in learning process, an environment must be created in which there are opportunities for students to do tasks.Here teachers are emphasizing on teaching through activities in which the students participate rigourously& bring about efficient learning experience. It gives reality for learning teachers uses all available resources to implement exploratory, constructive & expressional activities.

FREE PLAY

INNOVATIONS By little hands “ Innovation is important for growth” Innovations means creating new ideas. Something that has never been made before or the process of creating something that has never been made before. Little students at GDGPS used to make innovations according to what has been taught in class and to look at the topic from different point of view. This make them more confident about what they know.

SENTENCE OF THE DAY DURING CIRCLE TIME Circle time is a great way for our KG kids to get a sense of community with other kids of their age & enhance their skills anf improve their attention span. At GDGPS, KG kids start each day with circle time. It helps the children to learn how to form a sentence as they are made to say a sentence each day during circle time. Eg: Christmas is celebrated on 25th December. The capital of sri lanka is Colombo. We should wash our hands before eating. Jesus was born on Christmas day. Sri lanka is the neighbour country of India. Unity is the essence of a group’s Happiness. We should always remember unity is strength. Unity is very important for any team. Sri lanka comes in Asia continent.

ASSEMBLIES One of the most important part of the school curriculum is the morning assembly. The morning assembly is very important for promoting discipline in a child’s behavior and for mainting the positive environment in the school. Our KG assembly starts with universal prayer followed by theme song. Then students will stand enthusiastically in the position for the Indian Pledge. Then the children narrate a story or recite a rhyme. Next the mic will be handed over to the class teacher who will ask one GK question. Before the assembly dispersed they all recite the Phonic Song.

STAR STUDENT OF THE MONTH Hands on learning is what we practice at GDGPS Purnea. You would find our kids a lot energetic during sessions in class, and their minds never stop learning. They learnt and excelled in all arenas and thus were awarded” STAR STUDENT OF THE MONTH”. LKG STAR STUDENT- SREERAAG SONY UKG STAR STUDENT- AYAN RAHMAN

Parents Voice It was very pleasing to see the children with so much Patience and Enthusiasm in each and everything they performed. Loved the way Sreeraag my son had come forward and performed confidently although he was a bit shy in all the functions. He has definitely come a long way. A big thank you and applause for encouraging him and making him stand out with the constant remarks he gets from his lovely teachers which indeed is helping him rise and shine in his overall development and personality.
