Gandhi Jayanti Celebration Walking on the path of truth and non-violence, Mahatma Gandhi has played an important role in India's freedom struggle from the British rule. Various events are organized in the country on the occasion of his birth anniversary, but due to the outbreak of Corona virus epidemic this year his birth anniversary was not celebrated in a usual grand manner. However, the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti was made special by celebrating it in a virtual way even in the midst of the epidemic. We made this festival memorable by celebrating his birth anniversary, 2nd October in a special way, so we encouraged our kids for self health and home cleanliness drive on the day as a part of the awareness program. They were asked to perform self cleanliness by keeping themselves hygienic by frequently washing hands, brushing teeth, cutting nails, bathing and wearing clean clothes. Students also recorded their video of self cleanliness and spoke about the benefits of self hygiene. Our KG children also celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi to commemorate the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a pioneer of truth and non-violence. It was a sincere effort by our little Goenkans and the highlight of the program was the cleanliness drive where they helped their parents clean their house, garden, room, etc to give a deep insight into the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi and encouraged everyone to think about his vision of ‘Swachh Bharat’. A special speech with Gandhian quotes and messages made everyone think more about this iconic leader. All our Students were imbued with Gandhian values and thoughts. They vowed to become proud citizens of India and this World.

Webinar for Grade 9 Students Memory is the gathering of information and storing it in our brain which is retained throughout. As we come to a particular situation, our brain cells activate and bring back the information and we embrace the memories. Concentration is compiling all things together or attention towards something. Memory and concentration go hand in hand. If we concentrate towards a particular thing, the memory is saved in our brain in the subconscious mind as data, which does not get deleted but fades away with time. To not let information fade away, the basic practice is meditation and engagement in creative activities. So, to explore this aspect of self understanding, a webinar was organized for grade 9 students by Dr. MGV Seethapathy on how to develop memory and concentration. Many students, parents and teachers were a part of this successful webinar.

The little models endeared the audience with their adorable looks and dresses. Decked up in the traditional clothes of different states, these kids stole everyone’s heart by their inspiring speeches, messages and expressions. Some of them also delivered a speech in the regional language of the state that they were dressed up in. Such activities help boost the self-esteem of our students, which in turn helps them to grow up into the best version of themselves.
Video Jockey The Radio Jockey and Video Jockey channel of GDGPSP has been helping our students improve their public speaking skills and groom their personality. It also makes them outspoken and confident speakers. It gives our children an opportunity to express themselves and talk about all their work that they do. It is always nice to see our students sounding like they are hosting a stage show. They also interview their parents as they are the RJs or VJs for the day. The Video Jockey Club helps our kids come out of their shell and speak their hearts out. This is one of the many activities we do in our school so that we can nurture and help our kids grow into strong and outspoken leaders. Khatti Meethi Baatein…

Parent Testimonial Hi, I am Shaista, mother of Myra Gurumaita and Mayukh Gurumaita. I want to share my views and experience regarding online classes as a parent. I am completely satisfied with the curriculum which is very well designed and encourages students to become confident and grooms their personality. It is always better to do something instead of doing nothing at all. I appreciate Principal ma’am, all the teachers and faculty members of GDGPSP for putting their efforts in online classes. Taking online classes has been a very welcome move for students as well as parents and as a parent I have also been learning a lot from these classes. It is also giving me an opportunity to work more closely with my children. Parents are learning new things and children are also grasping more as they understand their mother’s language fast. It enhances the creativity and confidence of my child. So, I would like to thank all the faculty members of GDGPSP for all the effort they have put in. Thank you Regards, Shaista Gurumaita Mother of Myra Gurumaita

Parent Testimonial I really appreciate G.D Goenka, Purnea. They have proven that a child can learn even while sitting at home in this critical time. My daughter learns many good values from this school. The teachers are doing extra hard work and paying attention to the weakness of all the children and helping them convert their weakness into strengths. Regards, Jagriti Parent of Adya Srivastava
Student Testimonial I think the online classes and activities are very well planned and laid out, things are easy for me to follow. The work load ( h.w. & test ) was just enough, so I could finish everything within the given time, learn about the topics and not feel over loaded and rushed. The online classes have been totally enriching and helpful. The concepts are explained in detail and all doubts are cleared regularly. Regards, Cherry Kumari Grade 8
