PARENT ORIENTATION “ A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe.” Under the able guidance of our Principal, Ms. Saroja Sahadevan , an orientation programme was organized for the parents of new admissions as well as old parents at GDGPSP. The aim was to familiarize the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. The Programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Principal Ma’am addressed the gathering. In herspeech, she laid stress on effective communication between the teachers and the parents and also sought their support and suggestions so that the children could be provided the best for their overall development. The parents were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school. She also gave an overview of the various subjects like English, Math and Social Science and not to forget, the co-scholastic activities which gave them the assurance that the curriculum involves self- directed, hands- on learning activities which not only give vent to their creative talents and energies but also help in the all-round development of the child. The orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children. By the end of the Program, the Parents understood and experienced what happens in the classes and how the child experiences learning. Overall it was a fruitful meeting and the parents were in high spirits after attending the orientation programme.

Hands on Learning “The good teacher makes the poor student good and the good student superior.” – Marva Collins Promoting a culture of learning and one of inquiry as well as questioning, begins with teachers, who then translate it after listening to all the students’ points of view. It helps them work productively and at ease with different perspectives and engaging the disengaged. We, at GDGPSP believe that every student can learn. If they cannot learn the way we teach, then we teach the way they learn.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES At GDGPSP, Sports training is imparted to the students in order to inculcate in them a feeling of sportsman spirit, team spirit, self discipline and a spirit of general well-being.Every student participates in a Sports Activity of his/her choice. A well defined syllabus for each sport of their choice, enables them to pursue with interest, the game of their liking. The efficient and experienced coaches at GDGPSP impart professional training to every child to excel in the field. The children are not only taught the sport but also to compete with the right spirit, as it is truly said “The five S’s of sports training are: Stamina, Speed, Strength, Skill, and Spirit; but the greatest of these is “Spirit”. The school is constantly committed to providing excellent opportunities and state-of-the-art infrastructure to our students and preparing them to make meaningful contributions in an increasingly global society. A multipurpose court has recently been constructed with a basketball, tennis court and stage.

COCURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Equipping children to thrive as global citizens in the 21st century, we offer opportunities of growth and development through an integrated activities programme for each age group. We re-enforce positive attitudes by providing a platform for them to discover their abilities in areas of special interest, while they develop their skills and knowledge.

PARENT’S VOICE I sense a significant improvement in my child’s self-confidence and social skills. The teachers do a superb job in instilling good values in a very enjoyable and comfortable environment ensuring the kids adopt good behaviour and strong moral values. The teachers understand their pupils and customise their efforts to address individual needs. There is o much more than excellent academics taught here. SaloniGolecha Mother of YahviGolecha( 1B)
