Preface This book was compiled and written based on the curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Sports to improve the quality of learning and teaching which is composed of sixteen weeks, three hours per week. This newly developed textbook, in theoretical sense, one-hour will be delivered to the class, while the remaining two hours will be in practice through a wide range of techniques such as explanation, discussion, games, demonstration, role-play, individual work, group work, observation and peer feedback. It is highly hoped that this book will benefit and improve the quality of learning and teaching English to primary students which will focus on four language skills, for instance, speaking, listening, reading and writing. The students will be primarily taught alphabets, vocabulary, songs, creation of teaching aids and the use of them in the process of teaching and learning. This book was developed and written by the author who mainly based on the experience of teaching English. Hence, it was inevitable that there are probably faults in the contents and grammar. Elicit / gives words from the conversation and writes up on the board using words or picture prompts. 4 Drill the dialogue line by line (choral and open pair) 5 Two strong students model the whole conversation at the front of the class. 6 Student practice saying the conversation in pairs (All students practicing at the same time) One pair comes to demonstrate the conversation at the front. 7 Students copy the conversation into their notebooks and complete any missing words.
