HOW TO APPLYBECOME PART OF THEST JOHN’S COMMUNITY:CHOOSING A SENIOR SCHOOL IS ANIMPORTANT DECISION FOR A FAMILY.WE WARMLY INVITE PROSPECTIVEPARENTS AND PUPILS TO COME ANDVISIT THE SCHOOL.St John’s offers three main points of entry for girls and boys:Lower Third (Year 7), Fourth Form (Year 9) and LowerSixth (Year 12). Places occasionally become available inother year groups and further details are available fromthe Admissions Office.The School offers a range of scholarships for new pupils.These include art, design and technology, drama, music (bothinstrumental and choral), sport and all-rounder scholarships.We are committed to ensuring that an education at St John’sis accessible to all families, regardless of their ability to pay.Means tested financial support is available.

THE PROCESS11+ ADMISSIONSEACH PUPIL IS ENCOURAGED STEP 1TO CHOOSE THEIR OWNPATHWAY, INFORMED BY REGISTERING &HIS OR HER INTERESTS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONAND AMBITIONS. Scholarship criteria are detailed in the Scholarship section on the School’s website. Scholarship applications, together with the relevant fee(s), should be received by the closing date of 1 November in Year 6.

STEP 2 ASSESSMENTS Year 6 JanuaryAssessment consists of an informal interview,a mathematics paper, an English paper andan abilities assessment. Interests outside theclassroom (and outside of school) are valued.Sample copies of the papers are available onthe School’s website.
