Fighting The BIEA 2019 Extinction International STEM Through Youth Innovation Technology Competition Ages of 9 - The BIEA International STEM Youth 17 years Innovation Competition was born out of a desire to address the drastic skills gap that has started to emerge between the number of STEM graduates and the number of STEM jobs available. Our Competition has been designed to encourage students from around the world to be able to meet and exchange their passion for STEM, to pass on innovations and unique insights, and to work together to create a truly global STEM community for the twenty- rst century. @BIEAeducation @BIEAeducation @bieaeducation @BIEA @BIEAeducation www.biea.org.uk www.bieacompetition.org.uk

The challenge is to design and develop a drone using drone technology to help ght extinction and to preserve vulnerable animal species. The challenge encourages students to consider many di erent STEM disciplines, including mechanical and electronic engineering, with the ‘Fighting Extinction’ theme drawing on multiple elds in biological and environmental sciences. Change the Future: Technology The competition is made up of several rounds, with each one encouraging students to push the boundaries of their technological and scienti c knowledge, develop transferable skills such as team work, report writing and presentation skills.
