2022ANNUAL REPORT SEALKIDS.ORG

ABOUT SEALKIDS SEALKIDS is the only national nonprofit that provides targeted academic intervention for children in the Naval Special Warfare(NSW) community — everyday kids living in extraordinary circumstances. Thank you for helping us serve the children of Naval Special Warfare for another year! 2022 marked 11 years of standing with these deserving families. The following report highlights the great work made possible by you - our network of individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, program partners, board of directors, and staff. In 2011, SEALKIDS was founded by children to help children. Hunter and Alexandra Vogel chose to make a difference in their community, and what they created continues to impact families across the country. OUR MISSION IS CLEAR. In 2022, SEALKIDS served 381 students, helping them reach their academic goals. We partnered with schools, parents, and the NSW community to provide services not readily available and not covered by military insurance. We fill the gaps in academic support for Respectfully, these deserving children and we stand with families who sacrifice for all of us, Dr. Gretchen McIntosh every day. I hope you will continue to Executive Director support our mission as SEALKIDS grows. SEALKIDS All of us at SEALKIDS are enormously grateful for your partnership. 02

Families spend less time worrying about academics and have more quality time together! We cannot thank you enough for the amazing support that you have provided for our daughter over the years. Without it I don’t think we would be looking forward to her graduation this year! — A Grateful SEALKIDS Parent 03

WHY NAVY SEALS NAVY SEALS ARE ONE OF OUR NATION’S MOST ELITE MILITARY UNITS SEALs are often away from home more than nine months a year. Although they make up only about 1% of the US Navy, SEALs have a major impact on national security. While the country relies on SEALs to keep us safe, SEALs rely on SEALKIDS to make sure their children have the support they need to succeed academically. SERVING STUDENTS WITH THINKING AND LEARNING DIFFERENCES According to the National Center for Educa- tion Statistics, 15% of public school students across the country receive services for one or more learning disabilities under the IDEA Act (nces.ed.gov). Learning disabilities aren’t always easy to identify, and even students who exceed expectations in some subjects may have hidden learning challenges that keep them from succeeding in other areas. Navy SEAL kids are no different than their civilian peers. SEALKIDS helps identify the root cause of a child’s academic struggles and helps ensure parents have the information and tools they need to support their child. The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) visual informationdoes not imply or constitute DoD endorsement. 04
