Our vidyalaya, theBhavan, pursues this mission with intensezeal. In an attempt to spread the sweetfragrance of wisdom across the length andbreadth of Ajman, the Bhavans has addedWise Indian Academy to its network ofschools.WISE Indian Academy, and now also knownas Bhavans Ajman becomes the youngestmember of the Bhavans family that is fastexpanding. Today, the Bhavans is runningover 400 schools in India and 10 interna-tional centres in UK, USA, Singapore,Australia, South Africa, Portugal, andschools in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, AbuDhabi, Al Ain and now in Ajman. 04

Wise Indian Academy, was put on the map of Bhavans on 16th September, 2017. Our Principal, Ms.Sindu Anand warmly welcomed the gathering. The formal function saw a ceremonial change ofguard wherein the Directors in the Board of WISE Indian Academy, Mr. P. Rajan and Mr. ShanilKadathoor, o cially handed over managerial charge and responsibility to the Chairman o fBhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Middle East, Mr. N.K Ramachandran and; the DirectorMr. Sooraj Ramachandran. It also was a forum where the parents of the newly inducted schoolwere introduced to the 80 year old educational movement founded by Dr. K. M. Munshi and thecultural and moral ethos the institute creates. Ms. Meena Vishwanathan, a stalwart in the Bhavansfamily and under whose mentorship BVB Middle East has grown, enlightened the new BhavansWISE family members on the core values the Bhavan stands on. To apprise the parents of theoperations of the new management, a team of speakers including the Principals and VicePrincipals of the Abu Dhabi and Kuwait branches, lead by the Chairman and the Director,discoursed on the functioning of the schools, features like Digital Campus, their curricular,extracurricular structure and on the value addition a child would have once he/she passesthrough the Bhavans’ system. The launch cum orientation was brought to a close with apresentation on the plan ahead, followed by a Q and A session. 05

TRANSPORTATION WEEKThe Wise Kindergarten planned a very warm welcome back for the tinytots. We started the theme “Transportation” and divided it further intoLand, Air and Water transportation. The children already knew a lot andwere eager to know more. There were very interesting and fun – lledactivities each day and made sure the participation of every child. Thechildren were delighted to decorate the classrooms and corridors relatedto the theme. 07

ANIMAL WEEKThe Animal Kingdom – a very interesting theme for the month of October.Children learnt about the di erent kinds of animals like Wild, Pet, Farm,Ocean and also Birds. Every Thursday they actively participated in thethematic activities planned. They got acquainted with animals, its habitatand food habits. They came to know about general facts like the nationalanimal and national bird of India and UAE. 09

“ Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education, because rhythm and harmony nd their way into the inward places of the soul.” - PlatoWise Kindergarten celebrated Music Fiesta on 18th october 2017. Eachclass was assigned with di erent theme songs which were related tonature, creatures etc. The participation of each child was ensured. Theparticipation of a few of our parents added more melody to the event. 11

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Wise Kindergartenon 2nd October 2017. Our Principal Mrs. Sindhu narrated the life andteachings of Gandhiji. She explained how being truthful can make a simpleman to a great personality. She emphasized on the importance of truth andencouraged children to speak truth. 13

Parent involvement is crucial to the academic success of the students.The school organized an orientation programme for on 21st October 2017for the Kindergarten to make the parents aware of the parent portal,digital campus, learning management system ( LMS ), Academic scheduleand co-curricular schedule.Principal Mrs. Sindhu welcomed the parents on the occasion. The seniorkindergarten teachers took lead in communicating to the parents aboutacademic schedule, calendar and giving a hands on presentation ondigital campus. The programme served as a platform for parents to orientthemselves about the academic and extra curricular schedule of theirchild. 15

16 ORIENTATION

The 2nd Open House for this academic year was held on 28th October2017. After the orientation, this was an opportunity for the parents tointeract with the class teacher to enquire about their child’s progress andalso discussed the issues they faced in the online portal. Parents werehappy to be a part of the Bhavan’s family. 17

Celebrations are always fun, especially in the school with teacher and DIWALIfriends. Our tiny tots from the kindergarten section celebrated Diwali-the festival of Lights on 19th October 2017 with enthusiasm andexcitement. The little ones were dressed up in colourful attire. Theyshowed their creative abilities through various activities related to Diwali.Parents too graced the occasion by visiting the rangoli decoratedclassrooms of their wards. Their presence created excitement among thestudents as well as teachers. 18
